Re: Baby Quilt - PIP
They are beautiful.
Can you recommend an inexpensive sewing machine? I'm sure you have a nice one for the amount you use it, but I just need a little one for craft projects (damn you pinterest) and simple hemming etc. My coworker said Singer has gone down hill and to get a Brother. What is your "professional" opinion?

Janome hands down. Their lower end machines are way better than the cheap Singer machines and even by buying a lower end one you'll still be happy!
Janome is the only company out there that uses as many metal parts as possible when making their machines, making them much much more durable. Here's two different ones on Amazon:

First link above: A little more expensive but you'll have a few more options
http://www.amazon.com/Janome-2206/dp/B003Y5CGJG/ref=sr_1_12?ie=UTF8&qid=1330823152&sr=8-12
This one: One of the less expensive ones, less stitch options but still a good machine if you are looking for the basics.
I know there is more out there I couldn't find them on Amazon, but I'm sure if you go directly to a Janome sewing center or look at their website online you'll find the other ones and then you can look them up on Amazon if you want as well.
Let me know if you have any other questions and I'll try answer them!

You would hate my sewing machine! lol.. I've got 240 different stitch options! That's also because its a fancy schmancy sewing/quilting machine.
Let me know what you decide to get.. I'm curious!
