Front Door Camera?

This past month, I already lost 3 packages. UPS/Fedex just leaves them at the front door and when we get home, they're no longer there.

This never happened before, but it's getting annoying. Is there a camera we can install in the front door? Any recs?

Re: Front Door Camera?

  • I have the Swan cameras set up outside of my house. They also come with night vision and you can hook up a couple of cameras or up to 8. The images on the cameras can be put on a tv screen. They are wonderful. I bought mine from Frys Electronics. I hope this helps.

Thank you!!!!!!! I'll check out Fry's. Do you mind sharing how much you paid for them?

  • It was around $380.00, it also included a 60.00 rebate. I have six cameras, they do sell packages that are priced less.

Thank you very much!! Hopefully someone at Fry's will be helpful since I know nothing about installing these cameras.

    Thanks again!

  • It also depends on if you want to look at it real time and/or record the video into a DVR.  The DVR will cost more.

  • Try this, take a UPS/Amazon box you had from your previous deliveries.

Put something relatively heavy in it

Install the camera ... and then put the box on your porch/near door way.

Watch and try to get their faces

Learn to control your camera, you may need to take a pic of their license plates. It's common for them to drive by your house.

    Hope this helps

  • I believe you can get a camera that also has an app for your phone so that when the doorbell rings, you can answer it with your phone and see who is at the door.  So if you are at work, you can talk to the person at the door and give them instructions for your parcel.

FYI, for future deliveries, use your work address as the shipping address.  That is what I do, and then I know I will always get my parcels.
