Immunizations...

So now we are at the point where we are doing DH's medical exam and we don't have records of his immunizations.

He was born here and had to have had all the shots, but how do we track down his records? We really don't want to have to get them all again and it is not cheap.

Any advise?

Did he have to present them for school? I was able to track down my immunization records for grad school through my undergrad institution in the U.S. Nonetheless, I still had to take titer tests for some (I think that's the word) and get some booster shots.

Call his undergraduate institution. If they don't have them I think you can get a blood test to determine what you have had and what you need boosters for.

I have found some info on his records from his undergrad. However, there are a lot of shots listed that are needed. Do you know if we have to have them all?

I would imagine he could go to his GP and ask for the records...they ought to have them in the system or would at least know how to find them.

I second asking his doctor. They can also do a blood test to check for immunity to establish the titer which would offer proof of his having been vaxed. I don?t think it?s terribly expensive, but not sure exactly. I think I paid about 20 Euros for the MMR titer only to find out that mine was so low I need to be vaxed again.

Have you contacted the NHS? You need to contact the Bournemouth and Poole NHS Services. Your GP should be able to give you the number, if not I have it at home somewhere, but won't be home until late in the week. They usually keep track of everyone ones vaccinations or otherwise does his Mom still have his 'red book' from when he was a kid?

My dh tried and was unable to get his immunization records from the NHS, and had to have them redone. The link above is the price list from the Embassy recommended doctor, but you don't have to go there, you can do it through the NHS which can be cheaper.

This is the list of what he needs, I have no idea what his age is so it is based on that:
