DD on the crazy cat hater?
Bummer. I had a really good reply going too.
Re: DD on the crazy cat hater?
I was typing out my response. I hate when that happens, but I'm not surprised.
I think she was expecting a lot of 'yeah he's crazy, 3 cats is insane' and was shocked by the responses saying she's the problem.
Crazy McHatesCats- if you're still reading: having 3 cats isn't crazy, nor is sleeping with them. The only point in your entire post that I agreed with is allowing them on the tables/ counters. Beyond that this is 100% your problem.
Realize that you decided to keep dating, move in with and marry a man that has cats. Stop giving him a hard time and give him some respect for being a responsible pet owner.
Oh, and the dislike of the cats because they're from a previous relationship is full on BSC- grow up.
And that it was a "turn off" to see her H crying while searching for a shelter for his cat. Christ.
FTR, I have 3 cats. The house doesn't smell like litter, and I don't even scoop the litter boxes that often. Two of them are longhaired, and I haven't vacuumed in a week. There are a few tumbleweeds, and it is time to vacuum now, but my house isn't disgusting. You're vacuuming three times a day? You have a problem. You're vomiting daily because of the litter boxes? You have a problem.

What, have you not heard of the no kill shelter for unruly kids?
There was that Nebraska safe haven law a few years ago that unintentionally let parents abandon their teenagers. There were some really sad cases of people giving up older children they couldn't afford to feed, but I always thought it would make a good threat. "Clean your room or we're going to Nebraska!"
