RnR Mardi Gras Half update
Dh and i had a great run today and far outperformed our expectations. Our official time was1:55. I'm surprised and elated I was able to break the 2 hr mark. The weather was perfect. Only downsides were the road surfaces aren't great in NOLA and it was pretty crowded the whole way so there was a lot of bobbing and weaving. I also saw quite a few people fall, significantly more than what I remember when I ran the full 2 years ago. But everything else was great and I love the shirt they gave out this year.
Congrats to everyone who raced today. Hope everyone had a great run!

Nice job! I had a really fun time at that race last year. Glad it was fun this year!!
Yeah, I remember literally watching every step on sections of St. Charles Ave. and Esplanade Ave. The camber/slant to the roads was an issue too. But I knew about the bad road surfaces before I ran it last year. And it is flat as a pancake.

Congrats on your great race! I ran it last year and LOVED it. NOLA is such an amazing city and the trip was a great escape from a cold NYC winter.
Im glad you didnt fall...I totally almost took a major spill last year. Luckily another runner broke my fall (oopsies!). Congrats again!
zachary happens!
