Re: GTKY

  • Job:  I'm currently a SAHM.  I got my CPhT last August but have yet to find a job as a pharmacy tech.  I only want a PT job though.

Children: K is 20 months old.  We've been actively trying for #2 since a year ago February.

If no children, TTC plans? n/a

What's been going on? Anything else you want to share? H works 3rd shift as a security guard at a local hospital.  He works 12 hour shifts so in theory he should have 4 days off a week, but he's been picking up a bunch of OT.  So my days are spent here at home with K, with not much else to do.  We don't have any friends to hang out with.  Actually joining the YMCA has been good for him because he gets away from me for at least an hour and gets to play with other kids.  I'm definitely feeling like I need a break.

  • Job: Teacher

    Children: No

If no children, TTC plans? I think siggy explains.. counting down to start TTC again

What's been going on? Anything else you want to share? I started my masters in January (instructional technology), which is why we are TTA until June.

  • Job: I was promoted in July to a business manager, worked for less than a month, had DD and was out for 10 weeks, came back and worked for 7 weeks and quit to be a SAHM. Yeah, they LOVE me there now. ;) A lot of things changed with DH's job that made it difficult but possible for me to SAH when originally it was not possible.

    Children: Clara, 6.5 months. :)

If no children, TTC plans? We might start TTC #2 towards the end of the year.

What's been going on? Anything else you want to share? DH has 3 classes left and then he's done w/ school! He will hopefully have his journeyman's license by this summer (just has to earn the rest of his hours and take his test) and then we're talking about moving back to Alaska at the end of the year! I am SO sad to leave my family but miss AK so much and know it's the place for us. :)

  • Job: Working at a school for kids with autism. This week will only be my 3rd week, but so far I love it. I work in a 6th grade.

    Children: None.

If no children, TTC plans? No time soon. I don't want any kids, and H thinks I might change my mind in a few years.

What's been going on? Anything else you want to share? I actually divorced the guy I married in 2008 and got married again in 2011. Things are going wonderfully with H and I. I got my Masters degree in Florida and now am in Minnesota. H and I are going to Europe in May for our first anniversary!
  • Job: Full time grad student and specialized foster care social worker, plus my internship

Children: None yet. Just two dogs :)

If no children, TTC plans? We are currently TTC. It's been a challenge so far. Keeping it positive.

What's been going on? Anything else you want to share? Well, other than school being a complete takeover of my life and working 50+ hours a week, I also help my H with his business. So I come home everyday and work for another 1-2 hours some nights. Plus I work for my inlaws still and that's another 15/20 minutes a night. I work too much. I've tried to quit working for my ILs 3 times. Then they increase my pay. Sigh. I ordered Nutrisystem and it's coming in the mail tomorow. I'm excited and nervous. Other than that, I'm not sure there's anything else to report. I live a pretty normal life and I'm counting the days until graduation.

If no children, TTC plans? Oh, dear - stay around for a bit and you'll learn that I'm bitter. Two years, one miscarriage/d&c - making babies is hard

  • Job: Still in the same dang place but really hoping to be a SAHM once Allison arrives

Children Ava who just turned 16 months yesterday and Allison who's currently about 33 weeks in utero haha

Nothing really...H has been having some medical issues as of late and I really think I have pinpointed that it's caused by two root canals he had done...if you looked at paper you may say arthrist or fibermialgia and it could be caused by the root canals even though they were done properly...le sigh

H may have a great job oppurtunity..well his VP is leaving and wants him to go and that's a go but the VP and his wife are coming on the 12th for us to have dinner and find out details especially if we have to move somewhere.

    That's about it!

  • Job: Respiratory Therapist as a local hospital. I treat adults down to preemies. My heart is in the NICU and am desperately trying to convince my manager to let me work there full time.

Children: 90lbs half lab/half weim and a cat

If no children, TTC plans? H and I have been ttc since October of 2008. I was diagnosed with PCOS at age 14. We went to see a fertility specialist and found out that there may be an issue with H's sperm as well. We did several IUI's using several different drugs with no success. We were about to start IVF when we realized our insurance coverage wasn't what we thought it was. I got very depressed and we stopped all baby making plans.

What's been going on? Anything else you want to share? I just had Gastric Bypass surgery in January. I had 3 different fertility Drs tell me my weight was out biggest issue and how so many woman become case fertile after the surgery. I struggled with the idea for a long time but then when my A1Cs showed I was headed for diabetes I felt like I had no choice. The hope is that I lose my excess weight by this fall and we can start TTC again.

  • Job:  Have been a SAHM since July 2010.  Now back to working part-time (just started up again two weeks ago - weee!), only one or two evenings a week.  I work the front desk at an after hours urgent care clinic.  I enjoy it.  Mainly because I like the people I work with.  Patients suck, but I like just getting out of the house and bringing in a little extra money.

Children:  2 girls.  Gabrielle born August 2009, Genevieve born April 2011.

If no children, TTC plans?  n/a  and NOT ttc anytime soon.  even if that does make me a sad panda.

What's been going on? Anything else you want to share?  hm.  well.  no not really.  just chugging along.  blaaahhhhhhh....

  • Job- currently unemployed. Left my waitress job due to BS. Trying to get back into the swing of things.

Children- None. I was 10 weeks along when I lost the pregnancy.

TTC plans- None. I  need to heal before I could even think about being pregnant again.

Anything else- SSDD. I'm still ever the optomist

  • I haven't been around in a long time! I have been so busy...now I'm on spring break and pretty soon will be on mat leave.

Job: music teacher at an elementary school and after-school private violin teacher

Children: 1 on the way...due in 3 weeks!

    If no children, TTC plans?
