How to address salary requirement?
I recently had an interview with a company I am very interested in. I was told that I will be made an offer from them after I give them an idea of my salary requirement.
I have friends that currently work for this company so I know what they are willing to pay. So say I want to make no less than $70,000, how would I address that in a letter to them? Do I give them a range say from $70,000 to $75,000. Or do I just tell them I could not go any lower than $70,000?
Help! it's been 9 years since I've had to negotiate salary.

Personally, I would not name my bottom line. If $70K were your bottom line, I would give a range with the lowest being just above that.
With my current job, I gave them a range, and they came in just below it ($2K under). Follishly, I used my negotiation room asking to be able to give my then current employer 6 weeks notice instead of fighting for a higher salary.
After 31 cycles and two losses, we've been blessed with a healthy baby girl!
