The weekend (long) workout post
Hey Ladies! Thinking about all of you and the other out there that were affected by the storms this week
What was your (long) workout this weekend?
What was the weather like and what did you wear?
On a scale from 1-5, 1 being Debbie Downer (womp womp) and 5 being KoolAid Man (OH YEAH!) , how did you do?
Did you see/do anything interesting during your workout?
Bonus question: What did you do/what are you doing for the rest of the weekend?
Re: The weekend (long) workout post
Raining and warmish. I wore Compression tights and a l/s wicking top.
4
Other than getting lost, not really.
Shopping
What was your (long) workout this weekend? 13 mile long run
What was the weather like and what did you wear? Misty and rainy, high 30s I think. Wore cold weather tights, SS tech shirt, arm warmers, lightweight jacket, lightweight neck gaiter, baseball hat, Bondi band. Wasn't too cold or too hot.
On a scale from 1-5, 1 being Debbie Downer (womp womp) and 5 being KoolAid Man (OH YEAH!) , how did you do? 4. Pace was good. Thoughts were all over the place. My shoes stayed dry til about mile 10 went the rain started to pick up. I even hit 5 miles total at or close to marathon goal pace without being aware of it.
Did you see/do anything interesting during your workout? Not really. I stuck to one of my usual routes. I ran over a bridge into Providence, though. I don't usually do that.
Bonus question: What did you do/what are you doing for the rest of the weekend? Going to Costco. Last time I was there, they had the LLL-like racerback tanks. Not that I need another one. I have 4 already. Packing. Again. Yoga class in the evening.
Running on the Rhode
I hate you very much
What was your (long) workout this weekend? 9mi run
What was the weather like and what did you wear? 40s, clear and BREEZY (20mph gusts). I wore my Adidas Supernova capris, a Nike Pro ss shirt, a bondi band, and sunglasses
On a scale from 1-5, 1 being Debbie Downer (womp womp) and 5 being KoolAid Man (OH YEAH!) , how did you do? 4.5, I think. My pace has just, um, DROPPED like it's hot. I kept telling myself to run "comfortably" and not push, but holy fsck in the past month I have dropped over a MINUTE off of my long run pace. I am getting a bit concerned for my race in 2 weeks, but damn it feels good to be a gangsta right now.
Did you see/do anything interesting during your workout? The Corps of Cadets was doing a Rucking drill on the trail. Also, lots of mud and puddles from the storms this week.
Bonus question: What did you do/what are you doing for the rest of the weekend? Friday was my birthday, so we went out with friends to celebrate that. Also, DH got me legos as my b-day present, so we've been putting those together. And thankfully this weekend, not much else2012 Goal: working towards pre-pregnancy speed!

What was your (long) workout this weekend? i ran 13 miles on friday (actually i got home and saw i ran 13 miles and then decided to run to the end of the street to make it a half marathon - 1:36:02, lol) and biked with my friends yesterday. We biked up a mountain.
What was the weather like and what did you wear? it was super super windy for my run so i thought it was going to be cold. but it was not cold so i got hot (should not have worn compression socks). wore the same socks for my bike ride and it was cold in the mountains. also wore a jacket, bike shorts and a shirt and arm warmers.
On a scale from 1-5, 1 being Debbie Downer (womp womp) and 5 being KoolAid Man (OH YEAH!) , how did you do? friday's run was not that great. i should not have worn those socks and also, i ate beforehand and my stomach was not feeling good. the bike ride was much better. i give them a 2 and 4 respectively.
Did you see/do anything interesting during your workout? hmm, i dont think so.
What was your (long) workout this weekend? 9 mile run and a 90 minute computrainer ride this mornind.
What was the weather like and what did you wear? Capris, tank and light jacket
On a scale from 1-5, 1 being Debbie Downer (womp womp) and 5 being KoolAid Man (OH YEAH!) , how did you do? I'm giving myself a 4. Even though I was trotting along I felt great the whole way. I live in a really hilly neighborhood and the very last part of my run involves a hill that goes from sea level to 352 feet and it's not too long so it's a pretty short steep climb. I ran the whole way up!! Usually I walk it cuz it's so hard!
Did you see/do anything interesting during your workout?Lots of stupid people were blocking the sidewalk with their cars like halk in the driveway, half on the sidewalk. It was really annoying to have to run around.
Bonus question: What did you do/what are you doing for the rest of the weekend?DH and I went out last night to a new Thai restaurant it was really good. I need to grocery shop today, take a nap and work on some school stuff.
What was your (long) workout this weekend?
12 mile run
What was the weather like and what did you wear?
10* and 20-25 mph winds... I ran on the treadmill in LLL Wunder Unders, Target racerback top
On a scale from 1-5, 1 being Debbie Downer (womp womp) and 5 being KoolAid Man (OH YEAH!) , how did you do?
4.5 - The run felt great.. I was able to pick up the pace for the last 3 miles which felt awesome to have some gas left in the tank, so to speak. Also, my long runs about been about 1 min/mile faster overall than at this time last year which is fabulous! It's amazing what some speed work and strength training can do
Did you see/do anything interesting during your workout?
Not really, I listened to 2 Marathon Training Academy podcasts. I love those!
Bonus question: What did you do/what are you doing for the rest of the weekend?
Not much.. grocery shopping, cooking, laundry... the usual weekend stuff. But it's been nice and relaxing to not have much planned.
I hate that too! It is especially annoying when I have the jogging stroller.

What was your (long) workout this weekend? 11 mile run
What was the weather like and what did you wear? started at 37 ended at 46. clear skies no wind beautiful. compression capris, compression socks (that was a fashion statement), tank, LS compression top, bondi. Started with ear warmer and gloves that came off.
On a scale from 1-5, 1 being Debbie Downer (womp womp) and 5 being KoolAid Man (OH YEAH!) , how did you do? 4.5! Mile 8ish on starts to be painful (11 is a distance PR) but it was never awful. I have a great running partner and the weather was BEAUTIFUL!!!
Did you see/do anything interesting during your workout? Not that I can think of.
Bonus question: What did you do/what are you doing for the rest of the weekend? Rest. Clean!
Long run on Friday - just over 11 miles.
Cold but clear (40ish, but no rain. Yeah!). I wore Lulu Wunder Under tights + a long sleeved dri fit + my Lulu hoodie. I left it on for most of the run because there was a huge wind coming off the water & I was freezing.
Mostly I was focused on just getting through. I hit the wall around mile 6 (it was a super hilly run), but once I hit the first downhill, I was able to push the rest of the way without stopping (which is good for me). I would give the run a 3, because I discovered very painfully on the run that my shoes are too small. I have three toes on each foot that are swollen & bruised & painful to the touch. OUCH.
Not really. I was probably the spectacle, because I had to use the Starbucks bathroom around mile 6.5, & I was a sweaty mess.
Not too much last night, hung with the kiddos. We're heading to the mountain to ski shortly.
What was your (long) workout this weekend? 12 miles on a stepback week
What was the weather like and what did you wear? started at 30 degrees and sunny, finished at 39 and sunny. A little breezy. I wore tights, a tank, l/s tech shirt, gloves and headband. The gloves and headband came off about 9 miles in.
On a scale from 1-5, 1 being Debbie Downer (womp womp) and 5 being KoolAid Man (OH YEAH!) , how did you do? 4. A little faster than I would have liked and I was borrrred, but it was good.
Did you see/do anything interesting during your workout? I can't believe how much more traffic there is on Saturday morning than on Sunday - both in cars and on the trail.
Bonus question: What did you do/what are you doing for the rest of the weekend? Nothing...did a little shopping yesterday and today I'm taking the younger two girls to a children's museum to meet up with a friend and her daughter.
Yes,I'm smiling...I'm a marathoner!

What was your (long) workout this weekend? I'm still working on building my mileage back up, so I did a 5 mile run followed by an hour yoga class.
What was the weather like and what did you wear? SNOWING like a mo-fo so I stayed on the treadmill.
On a scale from 1-5, 1 being Debbie Downer (womp womp) and 5 being KoolAid Man (OH YEAH!) , how did you do? About a 4 - it felt great to run five miles again, especially at a good pace, but I was a little wobbly at yoga afterwards and had a hard time with some of the balance poses, which is unusual for me.
Did you see/do anything interesting during your workout? Nope.
Bonus question: What did you do/what are you doing for the rest of the weekend? I just realized that I worked out every day this week, twice a day for four of those days, and haven't taken a break. Oops. Today is rest day.
What was your (long) workout this weekend? almost 11 miles yesterday
What was the weather like and what did you wear? Windy on and off, probably in the low 20's-mid 30's. I wore long tights, a long sleeved top, jacket, and gloves...the gloves got ditched after about a mile, but I'd put them back on/take them off as the wind kicked back up. If the wind wasn't blowing, I was actually pretty warm, thankfully my jacket is a full zip and not a half zip.
On a scale from 1-5, 1 being Debbie Downer (womp womp) and 5 being KoolAid Man (OH YEAH!) , how did you do? Hmmm...probably 4-5. Long run pace felt good, and I've been pain free so I can't complain.
Did you see/do anything interesting during your workout? Two things actually-a pair of deer swimming across a small river that our path follows, and a guy running in a kilt+tights+flip flops (and a shirt).
Bonus question: What did you do/what are you doing for the rest of the weekend? I just got back from an easy 6 miles with a girl from my running group who had to skip her planned 18 miler yesterday due to a funeral. Now I'm about to eat some Chicken Noodle O's and watch The Rock on TNT. Lovelovelove this movie!
Ended up running 7 miles with a friend that is training for her first half. It was her longest run ever and it felt really fun because she was so excited that she could do it. And we had a pretty good time, too.
It was in the low 50's when we started, low 60's at the end and perfect running weather. I wore shorts and a T.
I'd say pretty close to a 5, despite starting my period an hour before the run.
See anything? not really. Do anything? we had negative splits the whole way...
I did basically nothing yesterday, having lunch with a friend today and going to Costco to see if there are any cool LLL-style clothes in stock. Later taking the dogs for a run this afternoon. It's going to be hot today!
What was your (long) workout this weekend?
11 miles
What was the weather like and what did you wear?
Around 40 and pretty windy. I wore my lightest tights but was way too warm and had to stop to roll them up 5 miles in. Wore a light l/s shirt so I could roll the sleeves up.
On a scale from 1-5, 1 being Debbie Downer (omp womp) and 5 being KoolAid Man (OH YEAH!) , how did you do?
4. My pace is much better than at this point in my training before my last half - I'm averaging a good 20 seconds faster. Just hope I can keep it up.
Did you see/do anything interesting during your workout?
No, not really.
Bonus question: What did you do/what are you doing for the rest of the weekend?
It's my birthday , so I plan on eating lots of cake!
Hey Ladies! Thinking about all of you and the other out there that were affected by the storms this week
Hope all our Nestie friends are OK! Update us when you can!
What was your (long) workout this weekend?
11 miles with DH this morning.
What was the weather like and what did you wear?
Nice, almost 50 and sunny when we started. Warmed up fast! I wore my favorite Athleta capris, a short sleeve C9 duo dry t-shirt, C9 sports bra, Feetures socks and Brooks Glycerin 8's.
On a scale from 1-5, 1 being Debbie Downer (womp womp) and 5 being KoolAid Man (OH YEAH!) , how did you do?
LOL @ KoolAid Man! Like a 3. Not terrible, but my legs were still sore from yesterday's yoga class and just refused to go any faster. Plus we started later than I wanted to so it was pretty warm.
Did you see/do anything interesting during your workout?
So, around 4-4.5 miles out on the trail, this dog comes out of nowhere and starts running with DH and I. Really young, puppy even, looked like a pitbull. It didn't have on a collar, so I slowed down and was looking around to try to figure out if it belonged to someone (lots of people out on the trail and we were right by a park). This woman on a bike going by said to me, "Keep your dog on a leash!" And for some reason that made me so mad, so I snapped back, "It's not my dog!" I mean, to her, I'm sure it looked like it belonged to me. And if it had been our dog she certainly would have been right to say it. But it made me irrationally mad because I would never do that! LOL, poor lady.
Bonus question: What did you do/what are you doing for the rest of the weekend?
Friday I went for a short run while the weather was pretty, then made pizza and drank beer. Saturday I took two (out of the three) cats to the vet for checkups, went to yoga class, grocery shopped, and went to dinner with the IL's. Then this morning we ran, now DH is running errands, I just put chili in the crockpot for dinner and I'm about to start some laundry. I hope to take a nap soon, I am wiped out!

What was your (long) workout this weekend? 12 miles, my longest training run ever. 2 weeks to go till RNR DC.
What was the weather like and what did you wear? 45 and breezy. Ended up wearing shorts, long sleeve shirt and a vest. I think it was the right choice. Sometimes I was cold and sometimes I was warm, but mostly I was perfect.
On a scale from 1-5, 1 being Debbie Downer (womp womp) and 5 being KoolAid Man (OH YEAH!) , how did you do? A 4, it was a petty good run, especially the last 2 miles. I wish I could bottle the endorphin feeling after the end of a long run and pull it out during a race.
Did you see/do anything interesting during your workout? Not really, it was my normal route.
Bonus question: What did you do/what are you doing for the rest of the weekend? A kids birthday party and skating lessons for dd1 yesterday. I need to finish laundry and make homemade pizza for dinner.
What was the weather like and what did you wear? Start: 42, finish: 50 w/20 mph winds. Long sleeve base layer, short sleeve jersey, fleece arm warmers, cycling shorts, knee warmers, Gortex socks (there were 2 creek crossings), Defeet socks, cycling shoes.
On a scale from 1-5, 1 being Debbie Downer (womp womp) and 5 being KoolAid Man (OH YEAH!) , how did you do? 3. It was average. I got in a good, moderate workout.
Did you see/do anything interesting during your workout? Belgian draft horses. Very pretty! The venue was on private property, and it ranks up there as one of the prettiest pieces of property I've seen in years.
Bonus question: What did you do/what are you doing for the rest of the weekend? process my photos from the event, veg on couch, laundry

What was your (long) workout this weekend? 4 mile treadmill run with 1 mile cooldown walk
What was the weather like and what did you wear? Even with my fan on, it's pretty warm in my basement! Shorts and and t-shirt
On a scale from 1-5, 1 being Debbie Downer (womp womp) and 5 being KoolAid Man (OH YEAH!) , how did you do? I would say a 4. I'm glad I'm still able to run this late into pregnany. I had to break about 2.5 miles in for some runners trots.
Did you see/do anything interesting during your workout? Not so much. I was flipping between Friends and Flip this House
Bonus question: What did you do/what are you doing for the rest of the weekend? I had my baby shower today and it was fun. Took the day off the gym and I'm glad I did because my back is pretty sore from standing for longer than I'm used to.
Running, only 6.2miles, 7 if you count the warm down. 9 if you count the morning walk with the family
About 45 degrees, cloudy, windy as sh!te and gross. Wore long tights, long sleeve shirt, hat, and vest/mittens. Mittens were on and off the whole time.
2. I had planned for 8 but because I *stupidly* did strength training yesterday for the first time in, oh, a year, I was running on dead legs.
Nah, nothing all that interesting.
Resting and going to bed early

On a scale from 1-5, 1 being Debbie Downer (womp womp) and 5 being KoolAid Man (OH YEAH!) , how did you do? 4
Did you see/do anything interesting during your workout? Lots of huge mansions that I could never afford
Bonus question: What did you do/what are you doing for the rest of the weekend? We were in Florida all week visiting family and just got back Saturday night. I did my long run Sunday morning and the rest of the weekend was full of chores getting ready for the week.

What was the weather like and what did you wear? sunny, breezy, upper 50s. I wore a ls shirt and capris. this was too much clothes.
On a scale from 1-5, 1 being Debbie Downer (womp womp) and 5 being KoolAid Man (OH YEAH!) , how did you do? 4. good final long run and I love DC in the springtime!
Did you see/do anything interesting during your workout? I *think* I saw a couple of celebrities out for a stroll on the g-town waterfront. I can't find anything saying they were in DC this weekend, but I can't find anything to contradict either.
Bonus question: What did you do/what are you doing for the rest of the weekend? nothing much. cleaning the house, costco run, catching up on the DVR
What was your (long) workout this weekend? 20 mile run but cut it short and only ran 15 miles. something in my gut told me not to run 20 miles.
What was the weather like and what did you wear? oh my, it so super windy and cold!!! 20-40mph winds! I wore UA tights, s/s compression top, l/s mock thermal top, 1/4 zip thermal top, gloves, hat, smartwool socks.
On a scale from 1-5, 1 being Debbie Downer (womp womp) and 5 being KoolAid Man (OH YEAH!) , how did you do? well, being that I ran 15 miles at 26 weeks pregnant with a pace under 10 minutes per mile including a couple walk breaks, I'll rate that as a 4. I'd say 5, but I am kind of hard on myself and have this horrible habit of comparing my current times w/ my pre-pregnancy times. I ran the same route a year ago for 20 miles w/ an 8 minute per mile pace!
Did you see/do anything interesting during your workout? it's a really nice route. You start off at Wildwood in Toledo, head out on to the bike path, into U of T campus, through the gorgeous Brookside neighborhood and back to the park.
Bonus question: What did you do/what are you doing for the rest of the weekend? after our logn run saturday, a group of us went back to my dad's house for brunch. Sunday I made sure to cross train (bike and lift) and then spent 3 hours working in our basement. I'd say I had a heck of a good work out this weekend!

On a scale from 1-5, 1 being Debbie Downer (womp womp) and 5 being KoolAid Man (OH YEAH!) , how did you do? - eh, I'd say a 2 b/c I wanted to do 10 miles, but just wasn't feeling it, so I cut it short
Did you see/do anything interesting during your workout? - nope
Bonus question: What did you do/what are you doing for the rest of the weekend? - well , unfortunately the weekend is over, so nothing
I've a great weekend last week.Iran about 15 miles, did some cardio, haven't eaten any fast food. But eat lots of vegetables.Did also some swimming. The most interesting part is that I got myself admitted to a dancing class.I'm looking forward to it.
