Happy Monday?

Anyone still posting over here?

Good morning!   It's farking cold out today.  It's also supposed to be nearly 30?C warmer by Wednesday.  That's messed up.

Derek and I had a very productive weekend around the house.  We got a lot done in the bedrooms and got the pantry unit installed in the kitchen.  Hopefully we get the parts we need for the cabinet doors today, because then they can to in this week!

Tonight we'll be furiously plugging up holes in the house.  We have our follow-up energy audit tomorrow, so I need to try and make the house more airtight!

How was everyone's weekend?

Re: Happy Monday?

  • I can still post here. Like you, I don't have FB access at work, and it's hard to get it on my phone here in corporate america.

Raynes  - I need to do the energy audit at my house. We have so many drafts it isn't funny.  Yay for living in an OLD house - Not.

Our weekend was pretty low key.  We ended up going out to dinner with my BFF, his partner, and of course the boys.  It was fun, and honestly I am shocked by the amount of food the boys ate. We ordered them their own plates, and they chowed.

Yesterday we were up early. I accomplished a lot of cleaning, and then went to a Pampered Chef party. It was nice to get some adult only time, and of course I ordered a few things.

Tonight, I have one more load of laundry to do and that's about it.

  • Good morning!

Is it that cold out today? Darn. I was hoping to go out to run some errands. It LOOKS beautiful out. Anyway.

I had an ok weekend. I love my new haircut :) So glad to have found a good hairdresser, it's been years since I had a reliable one. I really need to find more me time. It was soooo nice being out on my own.

  • I think it's something like -16 with the windchill.  But I agree, it looks so nice!  It's so nice to have the sun up in the mornings again.

  • Oy, it IS cold out! Guess we're staying in today. Hopefully I'll have some time to back up my computer too, I really need to take it in to the Apple store to have that battery looked at.

  • I agree with you all. I am loving the sun being up when I leave in the morning. I actually had to wear sunglasses on my drive in this morning. I also like the fact that its starting to get dark later. Me and the boys love the outside time in the afternoons.

This weekend was a productive one. We went to home depot yesterday and we made list of stuff we need to take to the new house. I am taking all of that down today when I go at 10 to meet everyone down there to let them in. I am so excited for our contractor to FINALLY get started. I can't wait to go back on Friday and see what all they get done.

Tonight will be pretty low key. DH is working nights this week so I am on my own.

  • Good morning! I had a very low key weekend. Friday night one of Kyle's friends came over to the house and we stayed in and watched movies. I drank margaritas and they were delicious. Saturday morning I managed to pull something in my left oblique so I took most of the rest of the weekend pretty easy.

Yesterday we did run into town for a bit just to get out of the house. After we got home I got a migraine and that was pretty much it for the weekend. At least it wasn't a weekend that I actually had stuff to get done. This should be a good week. I'm off work on Friday to judge an MBA scholarship case competition. I was also a judge last year and it was a lot of fun. A friend of mine will also be a judge so we'll get to spend the day hanging out during our breaks.

  • I'm on vacation this week, woohoo!

My weekend was packed!  Saturday we moved all baby's furniture into the nursery and I mostly cleared out the closet.  I got a nice 4 mile run in, too.  DH had a retirement party to attend at night so I went to my nephew's hockey practice (too cute, he's not even 6 yet) and then cleaned around the house.  DH ended up winning $400 at the 50/50 draw at the party!

Yesterday was my shower and I had a great time.  We are so blessed and received pretty much all of our big ticket items we had asked for (travel system, glider and ottoman, highchair, umbrella stroller, playplan, covertible carseat, swing, bouncy chair, playpat etc) and then quite a few clothes and blankets and books and homemade things.  My aunt's (Dad's sisters were very happy to they got to throw me this shower since they didn't do the wedding shower.

About my grandma's knitted items, I read her handwritten note from 2004 out loud and choked up.  Not full on tears (not my style, lol) but definitely teared up.

We got home and got most things unpacked and organized so that I can start washing and things but I woke up at 3:30am with some major anxiety and had to stay up for a few hours making lists and googling some things.

Today I have an appointment to get fitted for compression stockings, an eye appointment and quite a few stores to stop at to buy some things.

I'm hoping to get on the treadmill in a few minutes but I'm not sure how my stomach is going to feel about that.  I had quite a few sugary treats yesterday and that is playing a number on me today.  We'll see.

    Have a good day.

  • I came over just to look for you guys!

Our weekend was kind of quiet.  We did some laundry and some shopping, watched The Help and Thor and I made a fake sour dough in my bread machine that turned out pretty good.

The cats still hate each other - Rex is so traumatized now that he's scared of his own reflection.  I do have cute video on my phone of Little Bit playing fetch, but I can't seem to get it off the phone.  It keeps telling me the file is too big for email and it fails when I try to send it to YouTube.

The boss is out today, so it should be a quiet day here.

  • Reba, what is fake sour dough?

Despite my morning complaint on FB, things here are pretty good.  The weekend was super productive.  B and I went out for Thai food on Friday--yum, and then rented Moneyball.  I really liked it.  Saturday, I volunteered with this organization for which I do pro bono work.  They are a children's litteracy group, and had a huge event for Dr. Suess's bday.  So much fun. Yesterday, B and I drove up to Milwaukee to go to a baby store.  For some reason, the stores in Chicago that carry the crib we want seem to keep going out of business.  The one in Milwaukee also offered us a great deal.  So now we just need to borrow someone's SUV to get the thing home, and hopefully coordinate with MO on a GTG.

OK 1- You are lame for not telling me about yesterday! We had some stuff to get at BuyBuyBaby or BabiesRUs, but didn't go because we were feeling lazy

and 2- You better call me to GTG when you guys come up here.

  • Good morning. It's cold and super windy here. I can here it howling by my windows.

  • I mostly stay on FB now, since all my other groups have moved there as well. I think it's just easier and stays more active.

Good morning to those without FB capabilities, though. I'm just lounging around work today, since we're still relatively calm. It should all pick up by the end of the week. I'll also be working the weekend and have a ton of events this month. I hate when my calendar is super full of things. DH isn't thrilled that I'll be in and out of the house so much, because that means he can't goof off at work. Not my problem.

Tonight we actually have dinner planned, so that should help with our night routine. Jackson has been sleeping really well *knock on wood, so I'm hoping that continues. I feel so much better when I'm sleeping well.

We watched Bad Teacher last night, and I laughed my butt off.

  • Good morning! I'm another one you can't really get on FB much during the work day, so I'll continue to post here.

My weekend was really good. Saturday J had to work so I did some work around the house. Saturday night we met my parents for dinner at a really fun burger place called Crave. J had a burger that had donuts for buns and also had a fried egg and bacon on it! I thought it looked gross but tried a bite and was surprised that it actually wasn't too bad. I had a jalape?o popper burger that was to die for and some fried pickles, yum!

Sunday was really low key, I did some laundry and organized our home office. Tonight we have a bunch or errands to run (that we should have done yesterday), then we'll probably just have a quick dinner, and hopefully a good workout.

It doesn't need a starter.  This gets it's tang from yogurt and lemon juice.  Once upon a time a million years ago, I had a starter, but I let it die and I'm not sure if I got another one going that it wouldn't happen again.  It made a nice loaf but it is missing that strong sour dough taste that I love.
