Fashion question for y'all

So I'm going to a wedding next month. It's here (http://www.rowtoncastle.com/) and it's at 3pm going through the night.

I'm pretty committed to wearing this dress (http://www.bravissimo.com/pepperberry/products/sale/dresses/evening-dresses/embellished-bandeau-dress/black/nm26bl/?show=16&sort=1&level=3)  since I already bought it for no particular reason and haven't worn it yet. The girlfriends I know who are going are wearing a dark purple dress and two black and purple dresses (which is seriously weird, we will all look like we organised this way more than we did. Rather hilariously, the flowers are apparently purple as well)

So since it's sort of spring, I'm trying to dress this down a wee bit plus get some more coverage for the service and earlier in the afternoon.

I have a pair of purple satin peep heels which I had planned to wear (although the matching is getting ridiculous!) or a pair of black peep toe heels. Or another pair of heels I don't own yet.

What do you reckon? A silver bolero? A lacy one? Starting from scratch with the shoes? I was thinking maybe silver heels and a silver glittery shrug? What would make a black dress more 'spring' as opposed to 'formal winter event'? Double bonus points if you have any links for me to picture things properly, I seem to be stuck going in circles with this!

Color.  I think the silver or the lace is still going to be formal-ish.

  • That's a great dress!

Personally, I find purple to be very wintery. I would go with turquoise, coral or another springy colour for the accessories.

oohhhh... turquoise. i can work with that!!! y'all are totally right - i tend towards dark colours and black for every occasion so this is out of my comfort zone :-)

love the article too! i have to look at my clothes more carefully.
