Re: Dreading the next two weeks on the 5K training plan
I agree with making a fun new mix. When I am facing a tough TM run, I use a few tricks that work for me. I cover up the display with a magazine, so I can't see the time, and I try to choose a machine where it is difficult to see the clock. I tell myself that I will not glance at the clock until a certain portion of the run is done. 5-10 minutes before the end, I uncover the magazine. And 5 minutes before the end I up the speed. Whenever I feel like stopping I tell myself that this run (this discomfort) is just a brief amount of time in my life, and that I will be very proud of myself when I am done. It works for me everytime.
Good luck!
Thanks for the tips! Our work schedules make it hard to get outside. We live in dark rural New England neighborhood so running outside after work and the kids are in bed is impossible. :0( But you are right. I can do it. I have to do it.
