DC Restaurant Recs

I would love recommendations for good eats in the DC area. I?m open to all suggestions and cuisine, no preference to B, L or D. Just your faves.
We?re staying in the Capitol Hill area (close to Union Station); walking distance would be ideal, but taking the metro isn?t a problem and we will have a car to drive to outside areas if needed.
Also, has anyone been to Black Salt? It looks pretty good based on online reviews and the menu.

I'd post this on the DC board. There are quite a few foodies over there. It's tough to make recommendations without knowing budget, type of food, restrictions, etc. Also google The Washingtonian. Every year they post the top 100 places to eat. Not sure you can find it online but I've usually like most of their recs.

Central is a good one and not terribly far from Capitol Hill. Charlie Palmer Steak, Art & Soul are options too.
Cava on Capitol Hill is a great Greek place.

for me, founding farmers and good stuff/we the pizza are highly overrated.

central, proof, and estadio are also very good but in my experience, i didn't love them as much as the places above
