Weekend Purchases?

Re: Weekend Purchases?

  • My in-laws got me a gift card for my birthday, so I bought an awesome HUGE planter that I've been eyeing for the back yard.  It's about waist-height. Like these...

I also bought my first Bare Minerals eyeshadow ("cupcake"), which I love.  I'm slowly replacing MAC with Bare Minerals as I run out.

Finally, I got a set of kettleweights so I can use them at home at times when I can't get to the gym.

  • Our weekend purchases were crazy expensive this weekend.

We bought a new mattress and box spring for when we move into our new house in a few weeks, and a sofa and matching chair. We got these all for really good deals but it was still $$$!

And we went grocery shopping and picked up a quick lunch while out shopping for the furniture.

  • We bought a new sewer pipe-super exciting right?  Our pipe collapsed just before our line meets the city line and we had to have our backyard dug up and pipes replaced.  Needless to say it wasn't an enjoyable purchase nor was it cheap.  Thank goodness we had family to stay with so we didn't have to also pay for a hotel or boarding for the dogs while we couldn't use water for three days.

Ugh that sucks, but I'm glad to see they were able to replace it fairly quickly. Sometimes owning a home just sucks.

As for me, the only thing I really purchased this weekend was  a welcome mat and some Easter plates and napkins (since we're hosting it again this year).

  • I got some new clothes this weekend.  I got two pairs of jeans and two new shirts.  Other than that we didn't really get anything else.

  • Yay for the new car, Kristi and the new house, Becca. I'm sorry about the new pipe necessity, Christie. We bought a refrigerator from the Habitat ReStore for our garage since our kitchen fridge is too small, particularly when we want to make our own baby food for X when he gets to that stage in a few months. DH is loving having a beer fridge though right now. We also bought a storage shelving system for the garage too, to help de-clutter that part of the house.
