Finally finished S2 of Downton Abby!
I loved it of course and am sad I have to wait forever for S3. Loved the conclusion of Daisy's storyline and Matthew/Mary of course.
Some questions - Did they ever follow up on what happened with Ethel and her baby? Did she give it up? Also, what are people's opinion on the possibly fake Patrick? Was he a fake?

Ethel did not give up the baby. Not sure if we will see her again in season 3.
I have a feeling we will be seeing Patrick again in season 3. He did seem to know things and some of his mannerisms were that of the real Patrick, even Robert noticed this. Also the chemistry between Edith and Patrick seemed very strong, not sure if that would happen if it was not the real Patrick.
Can't wait for season 3!
I think Patrick was a fake but he may resurface in some interesting way - especially to complicate Lady Edith's budding romance. Plus (another hunch), I think her aunt Rosemund is going to make a play for the wealthy gentleman neighbor, too. He thinks he's too old for Edith and Lady Rosemund is on the hunt for 'companiionship'. So watch out Edith.
I really hope Edith and the older guy with the injured arm get together. She really seems to like him.
Okay I know this is a long shot but what if that Patrick is real? I wonder how that would play out with Mary and Matthew? If that was the real Patrick, and Edith ends up with him instead of the older guy. That would mean that He and Edith would get Downton, instead of Matthew and Mary. Would Mary go back to her witch attitude?
I can't wait for the next installment
I just watched seasons 1 and 2 Sunday through today. Loved it all!
I personally think it was a fake Patrick. The fact that he signed it P. Gordon is what makes me think that.
So are the only real cliffhangers Bates and the Patrick issue? And I guess maybe Mary's potential scandal.

I think they also left poor Edith's prospects up in the air. But that might be how they bring P Gordon back into the picture. That would be really interesting. If Matthew loses the title, than "poor" Mary is relegated to an upper middle class lifestyle.
