TMI Confession: My name is Lauren...

...and my bladder has started leaking on my longer runs! Ewww!

Its happened twice so far when Ive run over 5 miles. At first I thought it was swamp crotch (I warned you it was TMI!), but yesterday I realized that there was NO WAY it was that, and I was most definitely leaking a little bit here and there. Sure enough, I get home, and yup, it was tinkle. Kegel exercises be damned. Sigh.

Brit, this only started happening after I read your blog post, so I totally blame you! (kidding). Looks like Ill only be running in black bottoms until my bladder gets back into shape. Oh the joys of the postpartum bodily functions...

  • In my experience, it gets way worse after the second one.  Ugh.  When I first started running after DD, I peed every step I ran.  Now, I only pee toward the end of long runs or if I hop off a curb/sidewalk.  I did a little interval exercise the other day with squat thrusts, jumping jacks and high knees...the jumping jacks and high knees killed me.  By the third round, I had to quit.  And that included going to the bathroom between my three 4minute sets!  Talk about disappointed.  If I'm afraid it's going to be bad,  I'll wear a panty liner...  It sucks.  I feel your pain!
