I did it!

Finally! It's over! The 5k/10k races I was planning for DD1's school were Saturday. They went off without a hitch. Mainly because I spent every waking moment over the last week dealing with race related issues. I was up at 5am on race day, and we battled wind and heavy rain for the entirety of the two races. We still had a great turnout despite the weather. I finally got to go home at 11am completely soaked and exhausted. I actually teared up when I got in my car to leave because I felt like a huge weight had been lifted. This race has consumed me for the past 3 months, and now I can finally focus on my pregnancy and my family!

As far as the races go, a woman was actually the overall winner of the 5k! It was her first overall win. She was irritated with the course, though, because she said it was too hilly. Come on, woman! Be happy that you were the overall winner! We ended up with 160 people registered despite the weather. I don't know that I'll continue to be the director for next year. I think with the baby and DH's travel schedule for work, it would just be too much. Too bad I already did all the hard work of the inaugural race. I really paved the way for someone else to get all the glory next year.

It's over!!!!!!!!!!
