Re: b&m monday

  • After 12 wonderful weeks, I'm back to work this morning. I just keep telling myself everything is gonna be just fine. I'm excited about going to work just wish Lucas could go with me.

  • Hope your first day back goes well!

I bought a dress yesterday for my cousin's wedding... and Mark doesn't like it. I really did but now I'm second-guessing it.

M bought tickets to the Wednesday night session of the Big East tournament, invited his brother, and then offered that I'd drive him up to Newark with me. As much as I like his brother, I'm so not looking forward to that ride - I can only handle him in small doses.

Also, the weather. It keeps bouncing between freezing and abnormally warm. I wish it would just pick one.

  • DH is trying to find out the college major he has is accepted in the Workforce Investment Act so he can get a training waiver (through the Dept of Labor) while he finishes his degree.  However, NO ONE can seem to answer his question.  Seriously?  Don't you have a list of local colleges and the majors that are accepted?  We also keep getting a new piece of mail every day or two of things that DH needs to do fpr unemployment benefits.  Why not send it all at the same time?  He is beyond confused now because the little blue book they sent him doesn't explain half of the questions he has and some of the paperwork he is receiving doesn't match the answers he gave on his initial claim, so he's meeting with someone at our local Career Center today who will hopefully assist him with all of this.  What a cluster....

    I second Kate's B&M about the weather!

My cycle is all screwy and I wish it'd go back to being like clockwork.  I don't like having to guess when I'm going to get my period!

I have written and deleted 3 other B&Ms.  I am super cranky this morning.

  • I hope your weather gets straightened out.  I think we're pretty much at Spring weather now.  I'm soaking it all  up because I know we won't stay this cool for long.

Update to my B&M: The drop off was wonderful.  Lucas was all smiles.  Being back at work is good too.  Hope this isn't just a first day honeymoon phase because I'm actually enjoying being back.

  • It's Monday..need I say more?! Wink

Oh and the Monday before report cards are due, which equals frantic teenagers realizing that I really WILL give them a zero on the assignments they don't turn in...which means I get to do a lot of grading of old work this week. yipee. FML

DH decided to go spend Saturday & Sunday with his parents since they are going to this convention that is 2 hours away from us that DH used to go to with them before we were married.  Tha'ts fine, but that means the only open weekend for us to house hunt this month is next weekend...and next Friday is my birthday.  I did NOT want to spend my birthday weekend house hunting & in a car for 3 1/2 hours each way. Is it wrong for me to refuse to go on Friday? Sorry I don't want to spend my birthday at school all day and then in a car for 3 1/2 hours.  You knew I didn't want to do that before when MIL wanted my baby shower next Saturday, so I'm not sure why this comes as a surprise now!  UGHHHHHHHHHHHH  And taking my birthday off of work isn't an option because I have to take the following Friday off for my glucose test.

Lets see it.  We can help you decide!

I don't really have much besides that it snowed a ton here last night - about 10 to 15 cm.  It's also supposed to be above zero after tomorrow for the rest of the week which means it's going to become a soupy slushy mess.

ETA:  I thought of another one.  Babies R Us had a Britax convertible carseat on for 30% off, which was about a $90 savings.  I told DH to order it, but he waited until he got home from work at which point it was sold out.  I'm bummed.  We don't need one yet, but have been on the lookout for a good deal.  I don't think we will find one better than that.

  • I'm so conflicted over carseats and strollers again. We went to BBB this weekend and T is sold on the Britax B Safe and B Agile. But now I'm reading reviews on how hard the carseat is to install. Our other choice is the City Mini and Chicco Keyfit 30. There are pros and cons to each one and ugh I just can't decide! Baby gear is seriously so frustrating!

None of my clothes fit. My "fat" jeans from when I was heavier button, but are way saggy in the butt, and my smaller jeans no longer button and the belly band is annoying. The maternity jeans I bought from CL are still too big, not in the belly but like in the front crotch area and butt, which now im wondering if they'll ever fit. I'm so annoyed. I tried on some maternity jeans at Target and my pre-pregnancy size felt a bit tight, but the next size up was too big. Ugh! I'm ready to never leave my house and live in sweatpants and yoga pants.

I don't feel cute. My belly is doing this B shape thing because of the little belly I had before, so instead of looking pregnant I'm just looking like I'm gaing weight and getting dressed is really depressing me when nothing fits or looks right. I think I'm going to go to Old Navy today and browse the maternity section and hopefully find something good to get me out of this clothes funk.

  • Yvonne: give it a few weeks, I remember being in that in between stage where things didn't fit right either, thought they never would and they ended up fitting perfect a few weeks later!

So far I don't have a B&M today yet so we'll see if it stays that way!

  • It's Monday and I'm tired, I don't want to do any work and wish that I could just be home curled up on my couch right now. I also completely agree about the weather, today it's in the 30's, later this week it will be in the 60's...I almost always get sick when the weather flip flops like that...

My other B&M is probably kind of silly, but one of my very good friends lives about 10-15 minutes from us. We had a key to their house to take care of their cat when they are away. They put their house on the market last week and asked if we could drop off their key because they needed one for their realtor (why they don't have an extra is beyond me, and her DH was going to be home by 3:00, so why couldn't he just go get another key made, no clue, but anyway...) I usually drive by their house everyday on my way to and from work, but this was last Thursday and it was snowing pretty hard, so I sent the key with DH instead in case I didn't want go that way home, which means he went out of his way to drop it off.  So whatever, we managed, but then I didn't get any kind of notice from her to let me know that they did get the key (we put it in the mailbox) or to say thank you, even a simple text would have sufficed.

Silly I know...but still made me annoyed. Sorry to ramble.

  • I am so overloaded at work, it's insane. And shouldn't slow down until at least June.

We're having another storm (though mild) and I'm bummed because I really wanted to go for a run and work in the yard when I got home. :(

I spent 30 minutes chasing Dexter around the backyard at 11 pm because the mean neighbor dog was outside.

  • I agree, Kate... lets see it!

Laura... how goes the first day back?

As for me... Im sick and it sucks... that's it... brought home a mini pharmacy from the dr (I never go to the dr so if I go it's bc Im really sick)... I have a severe sinus infection borderline bronchitis...

along with this goes time off work (no more sub days either so it's no pay days... OUCH!!) and my house is a disaster... do NOT have the energy to clean...

I suppose a stupid infection is a minor thing in life but still cant wait for it to be over...

It was actually pretty fantastic!  I love talking with actual adults and seeing my old coworkers.  Lucas seemed to have a wonderful time with my sister and the other kids...so win win for both of us.  When I picked him up he gave me the hugest smile so all was right in the world.  Now we're home and I wanted to sneak on here and facebook before I packed his bag for tomorrow.

  • My B&M today is about waiting at the Dr.'s office. I sat and waited for a full hour in the room before the Dr. finally came in to see me. Now I know why I hate late morning appointments, ugh.

  • This week I finally started working on the projects I've been wanting to work at. They're on a tight deadline, so I can do overtime, but the problem is I have something in the evening EVERY day this week, so I can't stay late!

  • I took pictures of the dress and now I can't get them to transfer to the computer. First world problems.

Although, I love it less looking at the pictures than I did before.

  • Being nauseated all the time really sucks!  I eat like half of what I used to at meal times.  If I don't snack through out the day, I feel worse.  At least I'm not throwing up every day and to the outside world I'm functioning fine.

  • Someone walked into my office today while I was meeting with a student to shame the person. First of all, I hate when people think that they can walk in without knocking or getting my permission. Secondly, there's no reason to shame someone...ever.

My chart is all over the place and apparently my temps are so messed up that it keeps recalculating when I ovulated. So I'm completely clueless and paranoid.
