Crappy workout yesterday. :(

I was just not into it. Here are the stupid, piddly reasons I was grouchy:

-The gym was crowded.  (Boo hoo, I know)

-The older woman that was heavier than me (and I'm still 212) gets on the leg press right after me and starts out at 110lbs when I was so proud of topping out my last set at 95. 

- The spin class was going on and the instructor was some guy in flip flops not spinning, and all I could hear was his voice.

-It was hot. 

-AF just showed up that day. 

I still got in a half-assed workout, but no cardio. What do you do when you just can't focus and don't feel like doing anything?

  • I go back to the gym tomorrow, and do it again. 

    You're going to have 'off' days - we all do.  Don't beat yourself up over it.  Tomorrow is another workout, another opportunity to exercise and feel good.

    If I'm just NOT feeling it I'll go to the women's area, get on the treadmill and watch TV or bike and read a magazine to at least MOVE. But for the most part, I try to let it go and start fresh next time - which is probably the hardest part.

  • so it wasn't the workout you wanted.  

    but think about your unhealthy self, before you started working to get healthy? would she have been at the gym at all?  or would she use any of those things you are complaining about after the fact as an excuse to just go home and chill?

    sometimes, the success is showing up and doing something.  even if you phone it in.  it's better than sitting on the couch! 

  • I had a horrible workout yesterday. I had a 4 mile run scheduled and couldn't even finish 3. Every direction I ran in, I was running into cold wind. Aside from that, I just wasn't feeling it. I chalked it up to a bad workout and moved on. This morning, I got up and went to the gym for a greak workout. Bad workouts happen. Don't dwell on them/get hung up on them, just keep moving forward.
