spring afternoon wedding question

i am going to a wedding in West VA on 3/17. i would say the dress is not casual and not formal. just right in the middle. the ceremony is at 2 and the reception is right after. i plan to wear a black and white dress with a black sweater over it. i plan to wear black sandals with a heel, or black heels (to be determined by the answer to my question).

so it's still going to be cold-ish. do i need to wear hose? or can i get away with bare legs?

Me:39 Dx LPD, Fibroid, AMA and all that goes with that. H:37 Dx low motility and low morphology. TTC since 3/12. Clomid 8/12 and 9/12: BFN. 11/12 on a break for Myomectomy sched. 11/26. Resume TTC early 2013.

Re: spring afternoon wedding question

  • I opt for hose. Unless it's really hot out, (and by really hot, I mean 90+) I find bare legs tacky. And honestly, I'd wear them to a wedding even if it was super hot, but that's just me. If you absolutely hate wearing them, Sally Hansen makes a spray that gives you the look of hose wthout needing to wear them. I use it during the summer, mostly because my face and arms get sun, but my legs rarely do... so it evens me out.
  • if you're fine without hose, then i'd say you don't need them.

  • I HATE hose. Could be my Louisiana, hot weather all the time upbringing, but I never, never, ever wear hose. I'll wear tights no problem, but hose - no way.

I'd do bare legs or black tights. I'd probably just bring both shoes just in case. If you only have room for one of the shoes I'd just bring the closed toe since you can wear that one either way.

  • I rarely wear hose, so I say go without.

  • thanks all! i'm actually going to go with option c, which i didn't list, which is to wear black pants, heels and a nice blouse. the reason? i brought the dress to the dry cleaner and he wouldn't clean it!!! my cat had gotten into the hamper and he said there was too much cat hair on it! HA! bastard.

  • thank you! he looked at it and goes "what is this?" like there was feces on the dress or something. then he was like you need to get this off. and i said yeah well that's why i am here. then he said it will get on the other clothes. so i said forget it and gave him the blouse (which i was glad i brought).

  • i can't even remember the last time i wore panty hose, Huh? i think it was for a job interview in the dead of winter.

But then again, I wear skirts, skirt suits, etc  to work all winter long and never wear hose.  So, my answer is "hands down, hose-free".  But really, it's all in what you're comfortable in...

the dress sounds really cute though!
