Hi! I just found this board, and I'm happy I did! I've been working towards living greener one thing at a time. So I think I want to try a menstrual cup and mama cloth. I did try the cup a while back and gave up. Plus I think it gave me a yeast infection (sorry if tmi). I think I tried the mooncup, so I'd like to try something else. I saw the diva cup on Kelly's closet and didn't see any bad reviews. Plus they have the special wash, maybe that was My problem. I don't remember how I washed mine but probably just used soap. Anyone here have any experience to share? I just saw a site with a lost of tons of kinds. Didn't realize there were so many. I also want to try pads that don't make you feel damp, and that are patterned so they look nicer. I cant spend alot right away tho I think il start my search soon...
Re: menstrual cups
I also use the Diva cup, and I love it. I don't use the special wash. I just rinse it with water every time I empty it, and at the end of the month, I use a little hydrogen peroxide to clean it.
As far as pads, I use Party in My Pants. They have very cute patterns, and they work well for me. I just use them as backup for my DC on very heavy flow days, though, so I don't know about how they hold up on their own. They will send you your first pad for free so you can try them out, and then they run decent sales every so often to stock up if you like them.
To clarify, yes, I do wash it, but not with the special stuff. It gets a very good rinse at each emptying, which I usually do in the shower ;-)

Ditto on the party in my pants pads. They are really great. I also have some handmade silk ones that are really comfortable (they are great for liners, but not for primary use). I also use cotton ones (glad rags) that breathe well.
Regarding the yeast infections:
On the months when i clean it mid-cycle with soap (i haven't used their cleaner), i've gotten yeast infections. Now i "scrub" it with my fingers while rinsing with hot water every time i empty it and boil it at the end of my cycle. This works perfectly for me.
