Can anyone recommend some healthy higher calorie snacks? I'm doing horrible at eating enough since the baby hates when I leave her sight, nurses a lot and gets so distracted that I can't eat while nursing. I'm also not sleeping much and I'm totally brain dead so the help is appreciated!
I'm so over peanut butter w/crackers and granola bars.

Re: Snacks
Trail mix, full fat yogurt, smoothies (you can add flax oil, peanut butter, or avocado to increase the calorie content), hard boiled eggs, string cheese, PB&J would all be good!

Trail mix is a good one. The yogurt is a great suggestion too, but I've cut way way back on dairy for now since I really think it was giving her gas. I haven't been eating ice cream so there's about 400 calories a day I lost!
I think I'll make some muffins as soon as my bananas get to overripe.

Thanks! I have these moments that I look at the 2 of them together and can't believe they are mine.

My favorite snacks on the go are kind bars, larabars, trail mix, dried fruit, and bananas. I also make homemade protein bars and muffins so I can make them a little healthier (and know what is in them!) The homemade versions have been great for DD. She has the habit of not eating lunch at school, but never turns down a muffin! I make them with little or no sugar, and add dry fruit and sunflower seeds (since she can't have nuts).
I find making foods ahead of time is a huge help. I make a big thing of quinoa for the week, and DH and I add in veggies, feta cheese, and top with hummus. I also make homemade soups to eat for snacks or lunches during the week.
