Anyone have the Cricut Mini?

I saw it on tv and i really want it. the only thing that is holding me back are the cartridges. From what i see, the online craft room lets you design things then buy the cartridge but how much do they typically run? and does it come with a free library?

 TIA!

Re: Anyone have the Cricut Mini?

  • If you want a cutting machine, I do not recommend a cartridge based one at all because, like you said, you have to buy the cartridge.  I think they can be anywhere from $20 (on sale) to $80 (full price).

There should be a ton of info on other machines on the FAQ at the top of the board.  Personally, I have a Pazzles and love it.  Others that are popular are the Silhouette and KNK Zing.

    Good luck!

  • To my understanding, you use Cricut Craft Room online, which is free to use and design.  Then, you buy the individual fonts or images.  Or, you can also use your existing cartridges.  Is this correct anyone?

Yes, that is correct.  They offer regular carts as digital downloads and then they have some smaller craft room exclusive downloads as well that are less expensive.  So far I haven't been impressed with the full cart digital prices though hopefully they will come down.

  • Say you want to buy one image, like a bird.  How much does it cost in Craft Room?

They don't sell individual images. If there something you like on a regular cart you would still have to purchase the full cart.

They are starting to come out with digital packages that have any where from 4-20 (wild guess) images those vary in price from 5-15.00 from what I've seen.
