If you have tight, dry, red, sensitive skin, please come in
and recommend your skin care routine.
My skin is parched half of the time and red the other half and I've yet to find a combo that is sensitive and moisturizing enough for me.
Right now I'm about to scratch my mothereffing face off and the only moisturizer that hasn't burned me lately is Aveeno.
I'm looking at Origins and Borghese right now, and I know Clinique has a good product.
Also, does anyone know of a skincare line that doesn't also sell make up? I'm having a hard time finding any.
Re: If you have tight, dry, red, sensitive skin, please come in
Have you used the Crisco on her yet? If so, how did it work for you. Mine has eczema on her back, butt, thighs...I havent heard the Crisco thing, but I mix Aquaphor into her baby lotion, and it got rid of it right away.
I want to know too! My face isn't so bad. I've been moisturizing the heck out of it. (Ole Henricksen sheer perfection), but if someone could follow me around and scratch my back constantly, that would be great.
I really like the face stuff and will probably look into their other products. As for the rest of my body, I have tried almost every lotion out there. The Eucerin calming lotion works for a while, but can burn if you have been scratching. I tend to stick to Nivea for all over my body, but I just got a Curel hand lotion thingy which doesn't seem too bad, so I am thinking of switching.
I really hate winter and can't wait for humid air again.
FTR, I absolutely do not recommend that an adult rub Crisco on her face. lol.
This!!
The company makes a whole line of products but I've only used the regular lotion. It is the best.thing.ever. I didn't realize that I had a minor latex allergy until I slapped on a pair of gloves a few dozen times a day, plus washed my hands constantly in the winter. This stuff brought my hands back from that horrible, chapped, bleeding mess.
I just got a facial on Monday at Origins, and I have/had redness on my forehead and on my cheeks. Somewhat sensitive skin. Puffy eyes, etc. I ended up getting the Dr. Weil Line of stuff (and yes it's VERY pricey) and I am in love with it. I have seen some great improvement in a few days especially within the eye area. That particular line is for the redness and uses a lot of natural products. It doesn't take very much of the serums or the lotions so even though its $$$, the bottles are supposed to last you for months and months.
I would recommend going over there and giving them a try. They do have some make up but it's extremely limited. Mainly foundation and limited color. I use the foundation and it's fabulous too.
Thank you for all of the suggestions!
I used Cetaphil for a long, long time and stopped using it about a year ago. I can't really tell you why.
Maybe I should just go back to it.
I had a friend in high school with skin like yours, and she swore by Cetaphil as well.
My skin is dry and sensitive, but also slightly T-zone oily. Clinique's face wash and lotion for "dry combination" skin works really well for me.
I'm crazy allergic to lush products.
But I LOVE philosophy products.
I use Arbonne. It's botanically based and chemical free. The RE9 and FC5 lines are the only thing that will work for me. I've been having a lot of problems with acne, specifically cystic acne, and it's really helped. It's pricey though.
ETA: my cheeks are ruddy and my skin is sensitive.. It's helped with both.
