Re: Babies and bumps (to-be)

  • Well, my big down for the day is the discovery of some stretch marks this morning.  They're just starting on the underside of my belly.  It sort of makes me sad, but I know there's not a whole lot I could have done about it, so I'll deal.  Also, I can't see them unless I put in some effort, so that should help me feel better.

    Here's me today, 32 weeks, 6 days.

    image

The belly is really rounding out now.

He's been moving around like a champ lately.  According to one of my pregnancy books I've hit my max amniotic fluid level now, so he's only going to get more cramped/restricted in his movements.  It's so fun/weird to watch my belly shifting around as he moves about.

My sleep is getting more disturbed.  Last week I was usually only up twice a night, but now it's more like 3-4 times.

I'm still feeling pretty good though, so I'll take it.  You can definitely see the swelling when I take my socks off at night, but it's not overly painful.  My blood pressure is still perfect, and my doctor is quite happy with everything else, so, I'm happy too!

We'll just not tell H about this little fact, m'kay?

  • raynes- I had terrible swelling the entire pregnancy and got stretch marks pretty quick too. Boo for the crappy parts of pregnancy. I'm just hoping the stretch marks fade pretty quick. I was soo excited to see my ankles after I had Hayden, it was seriously a happy moment! Also, you are so cute with that bump. I can't believe how close you are getting!

Like I said in the good morning post, H decided that 4:30 was a good wake up time. No dice kid, no dice! I'm a tired mama today. She was all smiles before I dropped her off at the sitter. I love my morning time with her, she is so happy and lovey. It's awesome.

I worry about how tiny she is. She only weighed 7.9 at her 2 month appt which puts her in >5% for weight and about the same for height. She is still in newborn clothes and diapers. I swear I feed her she just doesn't seem to be putting weight on quickly. The dr didn't seem worried so I know I shouldn't either but I do anyways.

  • Raynes - you are so cute! I can't believe how close you are!

Charity - Hayden is such a cute little peanut!

I just hanging out waiting and hoping for some sign that I'm going to O soon. This whole cycle I have barely had any CM...I'm as dry as the desert. I've been drinking green tea every morning, any other suggestions?

  • Raynes- such a cute bump

Charitiy- I worried/worry about preston's size also. He has always been on the tiny side. I am sure P and H will catch up sooner or later.

Preston actually said Hey yesterday over and over again. I am so excited that he might actually talk one day. I was/am really beggining to think he has not desire to ever talk. We have only had 2 speech therapy sessions so I am trying to stay optimistic so hopefully this is only the beginning of some words.

Jordan has 9 weeks this week and then will be out for spring break starting friday and all next week.

  • raynes - great bump!

bailey - I hope you O soon.  Have you tried evening primrose oil?  Some people say that has helped for CM.  I tried it and didn't notice much difference, but other people have.

I'm 8 weeks tomorrow and excited to see the little bean again on Tuesday.  My symptoms have been pretty minimal to date, so I'll feel a lot better after the scan shows everything looks fine.  I have been more tired the past few days, but I'm not sleeping well so not sure if thats pg related or not.

  • Raynes - (and other ladies who had/have stretch marks), for me, they faded pretty good. Does my stomach still look like a road map, yes, but they are not 1/2 as dark as they were during pregnancy.

Ups: Christian continues to amaze me with words. He was calling DH by his name, and I heard him tell him to call him Daddy. It was quite amusing.  Zach appears to be trying to talk more. It still isn't always clear but he is definitely saying something.  I know he will get there, and if not we will stare EI at age 2. The other up is they are getting better every night with letting me brush their teeth

Downs: Not to much. The only thing that is driving me bonkers is their pushing and shoving one another.  I will be so glad when they understand sharing.

  • Edmund is now 10 months and while he is still almost crawling he is getting really good at the army crawl. There isn't too much going on. We are gearing up for his 1st birthday party which will be April 21st. And then surgery on April 27th. I feel bad for scheduling his surgery 3 days before his first birthday but that was the only day that both the plastic surgeon and the ENT were both available. He will have his palate repaired and ear tubes put in to drain the fluid that keeps building up in his middle ear.

Ups: Just being the normal happy boy that he normally is.

Downs: He has a cold right now which is making his sleep miserable. He is so stuffed up but according to his pedi it's nothing to worry about since all of his vitals are great.

  • Nice looking bump, raynes!

Still feeling really well.  As I posted before, one of my ups was my shower this weekend.  I'm on vacation this week and organizing, washing and putting away all the wonderful presents we received.  It seems like things are getting so close.

    Here is today's bump...

    image

I'm still feeling really well and I'll take it!  My back gets sore and I still have the pelvic issues I've been dealing since about 20 weeks but it's nothing I can't deal with.  Tomorrow I have a pregnancy massage booked and even though I go every month for a deep tissue massage (which is painful) I'm so excited to have hopefully a more laid back, relaxing massage.

I got my run on this morning and I've noticed even on the elliptical I've had to dial my intensity back big time to keep myself feeling comfortable.

My one down is something I know some people might not have an issue with but my weight gain has slowed down and now it's on my radar to keep an eye on.  Around week 30 I had asked my OB about the whole "one pound a week for the last 10 weeks" thing I had been hearing and he said that actually you should really only be gaining a half pound a week those last 10 weeks.  It's not like this is a special rule for me because I started off big or something, you all know i'm healthy and a normal weight, this is his years of experience.  Fine.  My last appointment I had only gained 1 pound in 2 weeks which I thought, hey, he knows what he's talking about!  I know it's really too soon to be concerned at all but I think I lost that pound.  The reason this jumps onto my radar is the only thing I know about my Mom's pregnancy with me is that she was in the hospital for 2 weeks before I was born because she was losing weight and they didn't know why.  I ended up being 2 weeks late and only 5 pounds 4 ounces.  I'm obviously not too worried about it yet, I'll see what happens at my appointment next week but I hope that if I haven't gained anymore (or lost any) that I get sent in for an ultrasound to check on things.  I just want to make sure my little baby is doing okay!

  • happy hump day, ladies! I am 15 weeks this week, woohoo! baby is the size of a naval orange.

other than being sick, I feel amazing. it's mind blowing how fast I went from feeling like crap to feeling like myself again. I have tons of energy and my appetite is back at 100%. I'm looking into buying maternity clothes here soon. while my bump isn't necessarily all baby, it's visible and my regular jeans are starting to get uncomfortable. I wore a belly band for the first time over the weekend, and it made the belly look more baby-like, so there were lots of rubs from friends.

the only real complaint I still have (other than being stuffy) is the RLP and constipation. if I don't poop for a week, I resort to taking Colace for a few days, which usually helps. last night I had a big burger before the Caps game, and it worked like a charm, haha. the RLP is pretty sucky, but I can deal with it since it's not constant... as long as I'm not moving, haha.

I'm not a parent but I was a very small baby. I wore cabbage patch clothing for the first year of my life. You can see the labels in some of the pictures.  She'll grow and be awesome. :)

A week???  I get uncomfortable if it's been more than a day! I know constipation is normal for pregnant women, but is a week common too?! You've got me re-thinking this whole baby thing.

Heh.. yes, it's quite common in pregnancy, and HORRIBLE after. Not to scare you.  What can I say, except... it's worth it?

Darian has been sleeping like crap lately. First I thought it was his cold, then I thought it was teething, but his second tooth has now broken through so I can no longer explain it. Sigh. Another sleep regression, I guess.

The good news is that tooth #2 was much faster and less painful breaking through. And despite the crappy sleep, he's actually been in a really good mood lately.

Our next big project is to decide what to pack for his first cruise in April!

ETA: I forgot to add that he surprised us by learning how to pull himself to standing over the weekend, so we had to lower the crib! Growing up so fast.

I used to be a twice a day goer consistently. pregnancy has completely changed that. I tried eating prunes, eating fiber bars, and eating more fruits & veggies... nothing worked. a few weeks ago I went 12 days without going... I took Colace at day 9 and by day 12, I was all cleared out, haha. I don't know if a week is common, but it's become the norm for me now.

My norm was about a week. I would feel miserable sometimes so I can sympathize with you. It does get better though!

If you're like me, it's caused by all the iron in those damn prenatal vitamins in conjunction with being pg. It 's just not a winning combination. I switched to some new prenatals and it made a big difference!

  • My doc thought I was crazy, because I had the opposite problem. I couldn't keep anything in. I did have stool softeners after labor, though, and they helped with the constipation that comes from that. I also demanded to stop taking iron, which was a struggle, since I had anemia at that point, too.

    Awww...it's such a bittersweet time.
