NSOR Hostess Gift ?

SInce it's painfully slow here, anyone want to help answer a question?

My family's been super supportive during the divorce, case in point - my cousins in Houston are flying me down there for a visit at the end of the month. i want to bring a hostess gift but since I'm flying, a great bottle of wine is kinda out. (i so don't believe in checking bags) Which sucks because that's my fallback, and we both love wine.
Sort of backstory, we met at my grandma's funeral a couple years ago and have kept in touch through Facebook, but this will be the first time we've spent a lot of time together. Then when things cracked and my marriage crumbled publicly, she lent me a lot of emotional support, and I found out that she'd gone through something similar. Now I'm taking a solo trip as a fresh divorcee. Big Smile

Anyone have any ideas? What do you usually bring as a nice little gift when you visit?

Re: NSOR Hostess Gift ?

  • Maybe bring some muffins or a quick bread that you guys can have for breakfast while you're there?  They're fairly hardy and should hold up on a plane.
  • What about doing a wine of the month subscription for her? Or a good book?

ooh I like this one! I will mention that she's pretty well off. (I mean, she is flying me down to visit her for basically just a long weekend) You know how it is when you give your rich friends a gift - I go for thoughtful rather than pricey. But she's fiesty and clever, like most of the women on here. That's why i asked!
