I am scared of my 1st run with the jog stroller

I finally went and bought a jogging stroller. Put it together today. Here the weather is beautiful and perfect for a run, but I am terrified of my first run with the jogger. Ha! I know my endurance isnt that great, I just think this is going to kick my a$$ and I am afraid!!

What should I expect?

Re: I am scared of my 1st run with the jog stroller

  • for your form to feel really awkward, for it to feel really heavy and to maybe kick it a bit until you get your stride settled.

Just go really, really, really slow at first.

  • Not going to lie, it is going to be HARD the first few times out. Your arms will feel out of place, your gait will be a little different, you'll be slower, and pushing uphill will make you feel like the slowest turtle in the race.

The good news is, you WILL get used to running with it if you keep at it. When you don't have it, it will feel weird :P. And you will positively feel like you are flying when you run alone. Your times will improve!

  • Ditto pp's. Your form is going to be off and it won't feel natural running like that until you do it a couple times, but it'll make you stronger.  For your first run I would pick a distance shorter than you are use to, and do not worry about time.
