There was a post awhile ago about the merger and reservations getting mixed up between the two airlines etc. I have a flight through United next week and I checked my reservation today. It looks like they merged everything together now and if you try to go to continental's webstie, it automatically brings you to united. They also gave everyone a new reservation number instead of having one for each airline. Hopefully that's the end of all the issues!

So Tasty, So Yummy
MH and I just flew United on Sunday to Monday (red eye and connection). We were told Monday was the first operational day post-merger and it was a mess. Our first connecting flight went well and we landed on time. The second leg was no bueno. The flight itself was canceled and we were put on a much later flight (even though there were hourly flights) and that flight was delayed by a couple of hours. Also, it was confusing to everyone when we were called to board. I guess it was different from how it's normally done. No reference to boarding groups and no specific rows were called to board. So everyone just pushed forward like it was a mosh pit.
The flight attendants were fantastic however on both legs.

I will give them props for keeping the CO mileage numbers. I memorized mine and I could never have remembered my UA one.

I'm the exact opposite! I had to send myself an e-mail to work and to my Blackberry with my new MP number so I don't forget it! Thankfully I'll be home this weekend to get my new card.
Our wedding on Wilson Island!
Me too. My United number had a little bit of a pattern to it, so it was easy to remember. My CO number is just a random mess. I guess I'll learn it in time.
I'm really annoyed with how they handled the FF program transition, because I got the "Valid until 2 Mar" sticker for my card the last week of February! Since I was already traveling, I actually got it when I got home -- on 3 Mar! I had a 5-hour layover in Heathrow, and they weren't going to let me into the lounge, because my card said that it expired in January. Luckily they let me log on to the WiFi with the iPad to pull up my account status, but it took ages and was very frustrating, since CO/UA had billed this as a "good" thing. "Oh, since we can't sort out the programs, we'll let you keep your current status for an extra few months!" Yeah, thanks. My new status is higher, and my card is expired, so I have trouble even using my old benefits.
...Okay, I just needed to vent. Sorry.
I hope I get my new card this month so that I have it for my next flight.
I was so happy they kept the numbers. Mine has 998877 as the number part, so easy to remember.

I'm annoyed that our CO confirmation #'s were changed to United and we didn't receive an email with the updated numbers.
