Recommend your laptop/notebook

Yes yes I know tablets are all the rage, but I can't give up my love for laptops. Mine is seriously effed, the screen is all different colors, overheats, lots of issues, etc. and time to replace.

Anyone have any good recs? I don't want to break the bank and am looking to spend 500-600$ or below or so.

Re: Recommend your laptop/notebook

  • I've had a cheapy Dell for about 4 yrs and love it.  No problems.  It even has Vista and it doesn't give me problems.

I just got my DS a Gateway i5 for Christmas and it's super fast.

  • No idea the price, but my work laptop is an HP Probook 6450b and I can honestly say I am impressed.  I had a sour taste in my mouth from HP's old computer which where horrible, this one is not.

At home, I have a 2010 Macbook Pro, which is not cheap but I am in love.

DH works at Best Buy and recommends the cheap Dells.

  • Probably too late to get but I just got a toshiba at staples that was $700 but had a $100 rebate.  I had a dell before that (it got stolen when my house was robbed) and I liked it.  My computer guy at work picked them both out for me.
