S/O Military Nesties Poll: How much do you pay for gas?
There was a poll on the military nests board about the price of gas. I guess in the States gas is back up to about $4/gallon ($4.50 in some places).
I did the math, and it's about $10 US/gallon here in the UK (1.40 pounds/litre).
How much do you pay where you are? What does it equate to in $/gallon (1 gallon = 4.54 litres)
Re: S/O Military Nesties Poll: How much do you pay for gas?
The price on the economy is about $12/13/gal. I'm rounding but it's about 1.73 euro/liter.
In Italy, AD can purchase a limited number of gas coupons. The coupons defray the cost of home-to-work travel and bring the per gal price down significantly (it changes monthly) but the rate, last I knew, was about $3.75/gal.
In the UK we have the Off Base Fuel Purchase program that works through certain petrol stations and uses the Military Star Card...basically it allows you to purchase fuel off-base at on-base prices (this replaced the old gas coupon program in the UK). Unfortunately the closest participating petrol station is over an hour drive away from me -- and even then, I think on base they're paying about $1.05/litre ($4.76/gallon), which is STILL more than anyone who posted on the MN poll is paying in the US.....
FYI, a UK gallon is different from a US gallon.
1 US gallon is only 3.785 liters

I assume US gas prices are measured in US gallons? So $4 US/US gallon would be $4.80 US/UK gallon.
In Oslo these days it's around $12US/UK gallon or $10 US/US gallon
