You know those single serving Betty Crocker (or Duncan Heinz?) desserts where you put the mix in the bowl, add some water, microwave it and you have a delicious chocolate cake?
On pinterest, I'd seen where you can take a box of angel food cake mix and a box of any other flavor cake you like, mix them together and do the same thing, and it totally works. It's not exactly like the pre-packaged stuff, but it's still a perfect amount of sweet and chocolate after dinner, and for the cost of two of those desserts, you'll get appx. 1 million. Give or take.
Here's the directions if you'd like to try it yourself:
1 box angel food cake mix (must be angel food cake)
1 box whatever other cake mix (I chose dark fudge... mmmm.....)
Mix together and store in an airtight container.
When you want to make one, put 3 Tbsp of mix in a bowl. Mix with 2 Tbsp of water. Microwave for 1 minute. (Hence the name 3-2-1 cake!)
NOTE: I think on Pinterest it says to use a coffee mug. I tried it first this way, and it didn't rise at all like a normal cake would. It just sat in the bottom of the mug and cooked, so it was only 2-3 bites worth. Putting it in the bowl lets it spread out and cook more evenly... and last longer.
Re: Another Pinterest success story
But it's not dangerous because they're so small and there's hardly anything to them! Unless you make, like, 10 a day, you'll be ok!
See, that would be my problem!
Haha, my thoughts exactly!!
