Do you know anyone that does any cycling workouts with their kid(s) in a bike trailer?
Next fall, I'll have big girl by herself on Wednesdays (which is a riding day) and we have a closed course that I can ride with her one and not have to worry about cars.
It's just a mile loop, so it would be boring as all get out, but at least I'd be off the trainer. I just haven't heard of or know anyone who uses their trailer for anything other than leisurely riding.

Sure do! I have a couple of race friends that have to do their intervals with the kids in the trailer every-so-often because of scheduling issues, not having someone to watch them, etc.They will take the kids up to 30-40 miles for a "long" ride. It feels longer b/c of the trailer.
They don't go as fast, but the extra weight keeps their HRs high.You could try various intervals like lactate threshold intervals. A 20 minute time trial (TT) interval could be good, or break it up into 2 10 minute TT efforts with 5-10 minutes of rest. Tabata intervals or short intervals of less than a minute might be hard to "get up to speed" because of the trailer weight.
