Oh geez, I'm bawling.

I'm watching Guiliana and Bill (listen, I don't need your judgement), and Bill is in Haiti helping fit deaf kids with hearing aids. omg, watching kids hear for the first time is making me cry giant ugly tears.

Bill also brought back some sick kids the first time he was in Haiti - one passed away in the US, and Bill remained friends with the brother, who survived, and visited the boy's family when he returned to Haiti to bring them a letter from the son who died, and personal effects and whatnot. This is only contributing to my cry session.

Re: Oh geez, I'm bawling.

  • I have seen a video of a kid hearing for the first time, and it DOES THINGS to your ovaries. It's understandable.

  • Last year, Mod posted a pic on her FB from the Japan tsunami. It is burned in my brain and I literally sob every time I think of it for too long. Since the anniversary was this week, I looked again to see if there was a story and maybe my suspicions were wrong. They were right.  Cue 20 minutes of sobs.

But instead of making me want a child (or, another one) it makes me long for the days I was the only one I had to worry about.

For less then ten cents a day, you can feed a hungry child.
