I'm guessing it's because everyone is all "KONY 2012" now and yet they don't even know where Uganda is.

I have NO idea WTF the Kony 2012 thing is. I've heard it mentioned a couple times, but I have no clue what people are talking about.
I haven't watched the video but I've been a supporter of the Invisible Children organization for about 5 years now. Here's the situation:
Joseph Kony started the LRA (Lord's Resistance Army) and basically wants to kill off all the "bad people" and "start over". Children are taken from their homes, often forced to kill their parents, and girls become sex slaves. It's astonishing, heartbreaking, yaddayaddaya and it has been going on for 20+ years... but now it's getting more attention and people feel the need to help by c&p a video on FB.
