Williamsburg, Va

My sister is taking her family to Williamsburg in July and asked if we wanted to join them.  I'd love to go but I don't want to stay at the same hotel.   I've been researching some places to stay but none seem to pop out to me.  Anyone have any suggestions?

Re: Williamsburg, Va

  • I used to live in Richmond so I took lots of day trips there.  But I did stay once a while back (several years now) at Aldrich B&B.  I really enjoyed it.

  • The Williamsburg Inn is very nice, but pricey (stayed there for work). The Williamsburg Lodge is I think a little less pricey but still very nice.

  • Hello! There are so many hotels in Williamsburg, it can be hard to wade through all of the options. Even though I haven't stayed in a hotel in Williamsburg, I'm very familiar with the area. If you want to walk from your hotel to Colonial Williamsburg/the downtown area, you're pretty much stuck with a Colonial Williamsburg hotel (the Inn, the Lodge, etc.). There is a small bed and breakfast on Prince George street if you want another option. The Hospitality House is kind of within walking distance, but it is kind of old and not a great option. I think it is better to stay where you want and drive into town - the parking can be tight during the summer, but there is a new parking garage that is only $1 an hour and can save your sanity during those busy summer months! Williamsburg will be super hot and humid that time of year - just so you are prepared! If you have any other questions about the area, I would be happy to help :)

  • I stayed at the Williamsburg Inn for work - though it was nice, I probably wouldn't pay for it myself unless I found a deal somewhere. The location was great though.

DH and I stayed at the Kingsmill Resort when we went - they run free shuttles and we really liked the grounds. It was on Jetsetter last week.
