Anyone want to dress me for my date tmrw?
Going on my first date with D to a tapas place in NoVA.
Looking at pics online, the place seems to be upscale casual. D, however, has told me explicitly that he's "not a fancy dresser," that the place is casual, and that he's shown up there before in jeans.
So...what do I do? I have a patterned wrap dress that I would normally wear to a first date to a place like this, but I'm honestly thinking that might be a little too dressed up. Thoughts?
I have a cute draped back, 3/4 sleeve lightweight sweater (dark purple) that might work, but I'm not sure what to wear on the bottom if I do. Suggestions?

You know what, screw it. Dress it is. I like it, it fits well, and it's not THAT dressy (it's a wrap dress).
One less thing to worry about tomorrow - I'm scared enough about the hair appt with a new colorist and new stylist!

What about demin trouser pants? Paired with heels, a cute top and jewelry they look better than normal jeans IMHO

This is so true!!! Hopefully since the place is described as upscale casual, it will be the dress shirt with jeans not the t-shirt.
I think the wrap dress will be super cute, especially if you are a dress person. I on the other hand rarely wear dresses, and I'm more of the dress pants and nice shirt kind of person...so it wouldn't be a very true first impression of me if that makes any sense.
MCC - this (jeans) is my generally my go to outfit, so I'd feel comfortable in that, too.
Here's a picture of the place during happy hour:
What do you think? Dress? Or jeans, cute top, and heels? (We're going for dinner)

I would personally probably wear jeans, but I think you should wear what flatters you the best. You really can't go wrong. Are you going to update us tomorrow? I'm excited for you!
