Oh.....cmeon....

I was just catching up on posts and saw that you got the new Modkids book.  Somehow I totally missed this coming out.  I see that it has "20 projects."  Is it a true 20 or really just a few with options?  I hate buying books sight-unseen since I never know what I'll find on the inside!

Re: Oh.....cmeon....

  • Hi! Well, I've noticed that several projects use the same front/back/sleeve- they're just cut off at different lengths. And I don't see myself making a knit quilt. But, the size range is great and the pattern sheets are awesome compared to every other pattern book I own. The photography is great- the patterns include nice basics, and I honestly enjoyed flipping through the front section (I never do that).

I'm currently working on the swim cover-up (it's also cute as a hooded dress, IMO). It uses FOE as sleeve/hood binding- why didn't I ever think of that!?

I like a few of the dress iterations, want to try the yoga pants/shorts (not that i don't have dupes on those already), I like all the skirts, the knit legwarmers are different. I'll try the swim suit when I find fabric for it- and I think I'll try the halter top as a summer dress. I don't see myself making the scarf, blanket, or fingerless gloves.

Amazon has a pretty good "Look inside" preview on it, and Patty did a series of previews of it on her blog. :)

Hey, did the Ottobre ever make it in the mail? Not because I need them- just because they never made it if you did! LOL if I need to start keeping my eyes open around town to see if anyone's kids are wearing patterns from it. ;)

Tongue Tied No, they are still sitting on my desk.

    How bad is that?

I HAVE to go to the post office to mail some stuff this week...It WILL be in the mail then!!!  Promise!

Thanks for the review.  I might go by BN this week to see if they have it in stock to look through.  I have so many patterns/books right now I really have no business buying more...especially since I haven't had time to sew since, um....Valentine's Day.  Ugh.  But eye candy is soooo tempting!

SERIOUSLY no worries- I have enough fabric and patterns to cloth the kids at least through their elementary years! Ha! You know, if I had the time. :-p
