When a guy says this, is it the same as when a girl says it?
When I say it, it means that I'm letting the guy know that I'm planning on introducing him to whoever, and that it's kind of a next step, and I'm feeling him out on whether he's cool with that or if he's not quite ready.
Or as guys are much simpler creatures with communication, is it just a conversation piece, like, "My boss asked if I could work this weekend," with no real meaning behind it?
J told me this on the phone last night. Who "they" are is kind of a weird thing. He and his ex-wife started dating when they were around 15, and had their first daughter when they were 17. Her parents were much more parent-like to him than his own were, so he was basically just a part of their family since he was a kid. They actually don't speak to their daughter now that she and J are divorced, because she cheated on J and there were some bad issues that came about due to the grandkids. They see the girls when J has them, not when J's ex has them, and they treat J like a son.
Part of me feels weird that his ex-wife's parents want to meet me, but I do realize that it's a different sort of situation.
