A good friend of mine just called me to ask if I wanted to take her daughter's place in the Cooper River Run 10k!!! The most I've ever done is 3.6 miles and that was run/walk intervals. Won't cost me a dime!! I think I'm gonna do it! Just hope I'm not dead last!!!

    That is FANTASTIC. You don't have to run the whole thing. Just do the best you can and have fun!

    Even if you are dead last, it's still a major accomplishment!  I remember running the state Cross Country meet in high school.  I *did* finish dead last.  But to this day I remember that I finished ahead of everybody who didn't even make it into the field, and everybody who did but dropped out along the way.  I'm proud of finishing what is still the toughest race I've ever run (I've never raced anything longer than a 5K and it was the most difficult course in my state at the time).  You deserve to be proud too, just for the attempt let alone the performance.  Good luck!

    Good for you!  It will be so much fun.  And many people only walk the race so there will be plenty of people around you no matter what.
