If I put hominy in the blender would it be like stone ground grits?
I'm trying to make this: http://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/2012/01/spicy-stewed-beef-with-creamy-cheddar-grits/
All I can find is instant or quick grits at my grocery store and I'm pretty sure that won't work with the recipe. Its calling for stone ground grits.
The only other thing I could find was ground hominy but it wasn't very finely ground. If I stick it in the blender will that make it work for the recipe?

From Hey To Horses
We had that dish for dinner last week, it was really good. I made rice for DH bc he doesn't like grits. I had the grits, using quick grits. Don't use instant, no one should use instant grits. I use the quick grits whenever I make them.
