Happy Monday!

Good Morning!

How did the time change treat everyone?  I ended up sleeping in on Sunday until (new time) 10, which is just nuts for me, especially lately.

Saturday I plugged away finishing the trim in our spare room.  I sanded the baseboard, filled the nail holes, caulked the seams and gave it all a nice coat of semi gloss white.  This took me probably 5 hours. Soooooo long.  And I was exhausted after.  Apparently home renos in the 3rd tri are tiring!

Sunday was a lot more laid back.  Derek told me to take it easy, so, well, I did!  My shower started around 1 and it went well!  For those that don't have me on FB, here's the picture I put up.

image

For the most part is just looks like you plopped a fake belly on my front!

It was great to see my family, and we got some neat things (including a onesie that says "Darth Vader is my Father").

Once Derek got home we sat for a bit and then got started emptying out the extra stuff upstairs that needs to go for carpet.  Hopefully that will be going in on Thursday or Friday!

How was everyone's weekend?

Re: Happy Monday!

  • Raynes, you look fantastic. Love the dress!

The time change wasn't too rough--I also slept in, but that's not new for me on weekends. :) After Josh left on Saturday, I spent the weekend working on critiques for my class and writing up my latest review for the book website. I didn't get to a few things, so I'm hoping to make use of the evenings this week to get it all done.

The most exciting thing about my weekend happened in Tucson, and I'm not even there! Josh is there on business, and ended up going to a book festival that was going on this weekend. He met one of my new favorite authors, got a book signed to the both of us, and introduced himself as a senior editor for our website and as the husband of the chick who gave the author's new book a great review. He knew about my review--he retweeted it and thanked me for it on Goodreads. But it was so cool Josh got to meet him and see him speak. I hope he gets invited to speak at the National Book Festival in September. :)

    Have a great day, all!

  • raynes - you look fabulous!

The time change was no fun in my house. The boys were still sleeping this morning when I left for work. I put them down at normal time, but it took them almost and hour longer to fall asleep. Hopefully they will adjust soon.

My weekend was great.  We bought DH a Harley Davidson on Saturday.  He's wanted one for a while, but I wouldn't give in, but I said yes. Can't wait to get it and enjoy the beautiful weather. The condition was that he has to wear his helmet. Thankfully he agreed.

Yesterday DH got called into work, so I spent the afternoon cleaning.

That's about it. Have a great day ladies.

  • Good morning.  Back to work =(

Well, time change for me was a bit rough since we didn't get home until 5am from labour and delivery triage.  Baby and I are fine.  DH and I were heading out for dinner at my aunt's house on Saturday night when I was walking down the stairs and decided that I really didn't need to use those last 2 bottom steps.  Seriously, so klutzy.  So I felt onto the landing and I didn't think I hit my belly, just slammed my left foot really hard and went down on all fours.  I felt ok but told DH that this isn't really an active time for baby and I'll check later when baby is really active and if it isn't, we'll go in.  Baby is usually like an alien taking over my body between 8-10pm and was much quieter so we went in.  Was monitored and had blood work and everything looked good.  Baby was moving much more and I was having no contractions.  So, we only got about 5 hours of sleep.  Boo.

Sunday was my 'try to rest' day.  My SIL came over and gave me some advice on the baby room set up so we moved the crib around.  I was getting sore from the fall but still went to the gym to go on the elliptical to hope that would loosen some things up.  I spent much of the rest of the afternoon with the heating pad on my back.

We did have dinner at the ILs.  The priest who married us was there and it was nice.  Good food.  Then as the priest was leaving, he ran over large metal poll on the side of the driveway (in his BRAND NEW car) and got this poll wedged between the frame and his tire.  FIL had to use 2 hack saws (both broke) and a sledge hammer to break it free.  Made for a much longer visit that we had anticipated.

So, back to work.  DH is now on March break and will be getting daily lists of baby things to complete.  I'm on call tonight and hoping I get no calls after bed since I want to catch up on some sleep.

  • Good morning! My weekend was great but definitely busy. Friday was a blast judging the case competition. The evening banquet was nice and most importantly, the weather was great so we were able to fly home. It was a very cool experience. I have to say though, the part that I enjoyed the most was avoiding the airports for the most part. Our 35 minute flight took about 45 minutes total from the door of airport 1 to our car at airport 2.

The rest of the weekend was good. I met with my brother and his fiance to help them get their wedding stuff organized. The wedding is now just over 3 months away. Yesterday I spent the entire day doing housework and cooking.

I don't have much going on today. Hopefully I'll get in a workout. Have a great day ladies!

  • raynes, you are so effing cute. I want to rub your bump SO BAD.

our weekend was supah lazy. Friday evening, I ventured out and bought the Sinus Rinse stuff that Sarah recommended to me, along with that stupid IntelliGender test. anyone in the FB group saw my reaction to THAT nonsense.

Saturday, I literally laid in bed ALL DAY LONG. my nose was so stuffed up and I had a headache from hell all day. I attempted the Sinus Rinse and it didn't do it's job the first time around. we ended up going to our usual steakhouse for dinner. I decided to order the crab legs, which I've been craving lately. when I asked for them, the waitress said, "okay, so you guys wanna split the crab legs?" Me: "umm, no... I'll just eat them all by myself." way to make a girl feel good!

Sunday, I met up with some friends for a late lunch. I got to cuddle my BFF's boys, which was great, since I hadn't seen them in a few weeks. My friend was in town from Louisiana, and it was wonderful seeing her - she's the one getting married in FL in June. She did lots of belly rubbing, haha.

  • raynes, you look amazing! Love that dress.

katsblaze - a Harley!! You guys are so effing cool.

rxbeth - hope you have a quiet evening without any calls.

Good morning! We had a pretty chill weekend. Friday, we went to try out a fish & chips place near us and were thrilled to find that it was actually really good. Darian can sit in high chairs now and it's so nice to be able to have him at the table with us when we go out, rather than hoping and praying he'll sleep in the stroller while we eat. Saturday we stayed in, and yesterday we took advantage of the beautiful weather and took a walk outside for some gelato.

The time change treated us surprisingly - I'd even say shockingly - well. We slept in, Darian had two naps, and then I put him to bed at what otherwise would have been his third nap time. V even went to bed early because he wasn't feeling well. I, on the other hand, tossed and turned in bed for two hours before falling asleep. Oh well.

I've got a busy week with like 3 play dates, so I'll be staying home and tackling a long list of to-dos around the house today and taking Darian to the library to get some new books.

  • Our weekend was pretty good.

Saturday we slept late, had some yoga, slept some more and finally rolled out of bed about noon.  Then we went for lunch and played some pool, visited with a friend and squeezed in some letter boxing before it got dark.  It was a great day for tromping through the woods - it almost makes me wish we had gotten up earlier.  Almost.

Sunday was a pretty lazy day.  We went to church, did a little shopping and then took a nap.  I did some cleaning and we had dinner at SIL's as usual.

  • Raynes, lookin good, lady.

Amie, did your friend let you fly the plane?

Beth, sorry you had such a rough weekend, but glad you and baby are ok.

The weekend was busy and productive.  B and I finally picked out our nursery furniture, and I buckled down yesterday and cleaned my office.  Not exactly the most fun, but very necessary.  Today is going to be a normal but busy day at work.

Hope everyone has a good one.

Amie, did your friend let you fly the plane?

He ended up flying 3 of us home. I gave up shotgun and he let her fly for a bit. I obviously need to fly with him again so that I have a chance to fly the plane next time.

  • Raynes - you look fabulous, I love the dress!

Beth - glad you and baby are both fine are your spill!

Good morning. My weekend was ok, nothing special. Friday night we picked up IL's puppy (Ellie) and brought her to our house for the night. She's wild little thing and Bailey wanted no part of her so we ended up locking up in our room so she'd feel safe.

Saturday J had to work so I took Ellie to the park. It was rather interesting since it was her first time ever walking on a leash. She's a farm dog so all the new sites and sounds were a bit much for her too, she about had a heart attack when she saw a kid on a scooter! Saturday evening we took Ellie back and had dinner with IL's.

Sunday was cleaning, grocery shopping and relaxing.

  • Good morning. I'm so not a fan of the time change. I'm super tired today but I guess that's no different than an usual Monday.

Saturday I went to my monthly craft class, we made some super cute St. Patrick's day decorations. I love getting out and doing stuff like that with my friends and girls in my family. I really look forward to that girl time together every month. Saturday night we had dinner at the IL's. They wanted to see H before they left for Hawaii. I swear they are always going somewhere beautiful and fun, so jealous! I reminded them that H will need to start going on these vacations and she will also need her parents there. Wink

Yesterday J cleaned up the basement and the garage. We are ready for carpet in the basement, it's so close to being done and I can't wait. After that we had dinner at Texas Roadhouse for my aunt's birthday. Nothing too fabulous. When we got home I took H on a walk for about an hour. It was her first time in the stroller and I'm assuming she liked it seeing how she napped the entire time.

H woke up with a cough this morning so I'm hoping that it doesn't turn into anything. I never thought I would be as paranoid as I am after having a baby. I have school tonight and then home to snuggle up with H and hopefully have a relaxing evening. Have a good day ladies!

  • C and I are going to run errands before our road trip to Vegas.  I am so excited.  Friday I drank WAY to much for WAY to long, so I spent Saturday hungover.  Yesterday I did girl time with some of my friends and my toes, you know because I am going to be wearing sandals and all.  The rest of the week is going to be spent in Vegas reading by the pool and getting my drink and tan on.  Have a great week ladies!!

  • Jackson zonked out last night like he always does, and then I had to gently wake him up this morning to leave for daycare. Tonight should put him right back on track. DH couldn't fall asleep last night, so neither could I. He's always such a pain in my ass when he can't sleep. I was up until about 1:00, both from being not so tired, and because I'm reading book 2 of the Hunger Games. I love a good book, but dammit I'm tired.

I also got to read outside yesterday! I put a blanket down on the deck and sprawled out. The pups also got to run around for a while, so it was a great end to the weekend. Friday and Saturday were manual labor torture at work, and Sunday I went to a bridal show with my friend and then chillaxed.

Can't wait for this week to be over so I can sleep in on Saturday. That's all I'm thinking about.

  • Man, yesterday was gorgeous!

Raynes, I'm totally loving that dress. It looks fantastic! Where on earth did you get it? I'm feeling particularly uninspired by maternity clothes.

This past weekend was okay. Phil spent all day Saturday fighting off what seems like his 15 millionth cold of the year, and I spent the day trying not to catch it. Meh. Not a great way to kick off March Break!

I did, however, score an awesome deal on a Kate Spade baby bag. It was originally 400$ and I got it for 150$! What makes it extra awesome right now, is I can ditch the backpack I've been using for school, since the bag is big enough for my marking and my lunch to go in. I am one happy camper on that front.

I'm off to the health food store after I eat lunch (I'm so late eating today - I *may* have scarfed down some Kernels popcorn while at the mall earlier) to pick up ingredients for our vegan tapas cocktail party to celebrate the finale of the Bachelor (I've really hated this season, but I cannot wait until Emily's season starts!). I'm making sriracha bean dip, some marinated olives and some meyer lemon sorbet. I may also pop into the underwear store next to it to get some new bras. Only one of mine currently fits, but I *hate* bra shopping (really, I hate the price of quality bras) some I'm going to postpone it until my next pay cheque, I think.

  • Thanks kaesha!

I got the dress at Motherhood Maternity.  I love that store sooooo much more than Thyme.  They had it in straight purple too, but the lines are way more forgiving.

Re: bras, look into a bra extender.  Motherhood sells them.  They might help you get a bit more mileage out of your current bras.
