Nice hotel near Chicago with free parking?

I've found some "good deals" on Chicago hotels, but they all charge $50/night for parking!  We are going to a Bulls game in April and trying to find somewhere to stay.  I'd like to stay under $100.  I was hoping for a 4* but would settle for a 3* now that I've found out parking is so expensive!

Re: Nice hotel near Chicago with free parking?

  • I recommend staying in Oak Brook for under $100 a night near Chicago.  You are just a short ride away down 290 to the united center.  There is the Marriott, Hilton Suites, HIlton Garden Inn, Doubletree or Westin which is in Lombard.  I have stayed at all of them and can recommend them all for the most part for your price range.  Great shopping and restaurants in Oak Brook as well.
  • Thanks!!! I'll check it out!

  • I realize it isn't free, but you could also maybe try a parking garage instead of parking at the hotel - might be cheaper. http://spothero.com/ or  http://chicago.bestparking.com might help.

I also wonder if it is $50/day for valet. If you self park and don't need in/out privileges, is it cheaper?

  • You should check out and monitor the TravelZoo deals:

    http://www.travelzoo.com/hotels/chicago/

They frequently list discount 4* hotels w/ complimentary parking specials.  This would allow you to control the specific hotel you stay in as well as minimize the parking costs.  The deals change weekly or more.

  • Some don't offer self-parking, and the others it saves about $10 (which we'd do).  Thanks for the other tips.  I like the "deal" idea with parking included.  Much appreciated!

Ditto this - I've gotten free parking at the Hyatt on Wacker a few times before - another time it was $20 but the room itself was only $89 so it was still a great deal.

  • Check out places is Rosemont, most offer free parking and they are right off the blue line, or I-90.
