Hi! Sorry, I've been a slacker poster lately, but hopefully at least a few of you remember me
Anyway, I have been toying with the idea of training for a Sprint Triathalon. I mostly stick to running by my SO is a cyclist, so we've both been doing a little cross training. I've just been borrowing a bike for him and I to go out on rides and was planning on getting a (used) Hybrid Bike with my tax return. Well, he, being the bike expert that he is, ended up showing up at my house this weekend with a new (to me) bike. I am so excited that now, not only do I have my own bike, but that I might actually be able to start training for the Triathalons now. This coupled with the oh so sexy swim cap and goggles I purchased this weekend and I am well on my way.

Re: Woo hoo I got a bike!
Nice!!
How much was the bike?
Honestly, I didn't even ask. I would hope not much, but admitadly, I know nothing about bikes. From what he told me, it's an older model Trek but has been very well maintained.

How fun!!! What kind of bike is it? I'm sure you will really enjoy it. A good bike that fits makes a world of difference.....the wind through your helmet, the feel of the road beneath your tires!!
BTW, it's triathlon, not triathalon.

Whoops, spell check fail! LOL
It's a Trek Hybrid is all I really know. It's a 21 speed. I need SO to school me more on it this weekend, I am a total rookie when it comes to bikes.

yay! I just got my bike a few weeks ago and I LOVE it!
With your tax return money now (haha!) get a trainer so you can ride indoors. I have absolutely loved being able to get in a quick 30 minute ride when the girls are napping, it's been so nice.

Sorry, I just saw this! Do you have a trainer that you would recommend? My SO has one that he doesn't really like, says its too loud, and I would need one on the quieter side since I would most likely be using it at night after my kids are in bed.
