so who all has done a triathlon?
are you a one and done or do you love them?
Re: so who all has done a triathlon?
I've done about 25 triathlons. I love them. I've done sprints, Olympics, half-IMs, and two full Ironman races.
If you want some information, check out my bio.
What's the deal? Are you thinking of doing one?
I'm contemplating (don't tell Jonali--I'll never hear the end of it)
Well I love and I sometimes don't love lol.
If I could find more aquathlons (swim-run), I would be really happy. I like biking, but to train for it around here, we have to drive about 25 minutes for less busy roads, which is a hassle. I just don't feel I practice enough to love it. With that said, I do love tris more than just running races, I've done about 10 sprints and 2 olympics, with 3-4 sprints this year and 1 olympic.
I've done 2 sprint tri's. I never broke down and bought my own bike which could add to major frustration. I trained for the first on a borrowed hybrid and the second mainly on the gym bike. I am retired club swimmer so that part was easy for me, and the running wasn't too bad. However, finding the time to properly train for all three is probablly what has prevented me from ever going after a longer distance. It was fun, but I really have much more enjoyed just running and using swimming/biking for cross training.
I think I am going to do one this summer, I'm just trying to decide if I should do one soon to establish a base line for a training plan for my goal one in August. And you totally need to do one FMLB!

I did TriGirl last mother's day and never intended to do another one. After I finished that one, I felt incredible to say that I had done a triathlon. Two days later I signed up for Combat, which was 2 weeks later. I ended up doing 6 last year from super sprints to an olympic and I am counting down the days until TriGirl again this year. I am running a half marathon on Saturday and after training for two different kinds of races, I prefer triathlon training because it gives me a variety of workouts.
are you running Seabrook this weekend?
I am thinking(ish) about the supersprint but there's one in Katy the end of April that I think I'm going to do if I decide do to an early one. The TriGirl in August is my goal race.

I am doing Seabrook this weekend. I just want it to be over with. Ha!
I loved the mother's day race and can't wait to do it again this year.
The face of Kitty-Hate
I've done one, and it was a pool swim. At the time it was the hardest thing physically that I had ever done. It was a really tough course, and I finished 3rd from last, but I finished! I was technically supposed to do an open water swim one, but the swim portion got cancelled due to a storm, so they turned it into a duathlon instead.
Honestly, I don't know if I'll ever do another one. Sometimes I think I'd like to do an open water one, just b/c the thought of it scares me so much, and I'd love to say I conquered that fear. I'm not a great swimmer at all, so it makes me really nervous.
I currently have no plans to do another one, but that may change. So far I'm not a person that loves them though, not yet anyway.
