Bachelor Finale/After the Rose - *live/spoilers*
What do you think so far?!?
Just a few random thoughts:
- I was really surprised to see Ben's mom & sister react to Courtney so positively.
- Courtney doesn't strike me as the scrapbook type. And her reading that letter was awful - I don't know why, it just seemed really fake. What should have been a really intense moment seemed too...casual?
Re: Bachelor Finale/After the Rose - *live/spoilers*
I know! This voice/personality seems much more real than what we ever saw.
They broke up, but Ben just said that they're "in a good place" and are engaged.
Did you create this sn just so you could go around to various boards spoiling tonight's finale?
PRetty sure he was kidding.
Gah - you're right.
I feel like I was watching Emily and Brad's after the rose show all over again...
It also killed me when they said they were in a good place but Courtney said she did not trust Ben
The best part of that show was bringing Ashley and JP back...

JP and Ashley are so ridiculously cute together. I really hope they last, I love them together.
It was just awkward and uncomfortable.
I might be in the minority but Ashley still annoys me, I was never a huge fan of hers.
I am part of the minority - she definitely still annoys me.....
Totally agree! She was so robotic, the whole thing was awkward! He even gave the whole "tearful apology in front of everyone" and they didnt even have a moment after! Lame. We'll be seeing headlines soon.
My Blog
I know! I felt bad for her as well. I mean he fuuucking dumped her when she needed him the most. And you know what, he was warned by so many girls about her that even if he wasn't happy with her behavior, it's not like he should have been that blindsided.
It's obvious the girl has serious trust and self esteem issues. I wanted her to dump him on ATR. I'm not excusing her behavior by any means, but dayum, cut the girl a break.
Lindzie was on GMA this morning. I like her and am glad she opted out of being interviewed on ATR.
I do not think he is cute at all.
So much this! He's a douche; she's a b!tch. They're perfect together.
I was looking forward to this to hear more about the timing of everything. A guy called in to a local radio station (with a nationally syndicated show) last week saying that his girlfriend (now ex) hooked up with Ben in NYC a bit after Thanksgiving. (Her friend told him about it and he broke up with her over it.) He swore he was telling the truth.
Courtney said that Ben spent Thanksgiving with her family, and they broke up just before Valentine's Day. Hmm.
Either way, the whole show was so awkward. There is no way they last.
I agree...a friend of mine and I were saying he looks almost like a neanderthal. It's compounded by his jerky behavior.
I do think Ben is a jerk. Occasionally he'd take a really condescending tone of voice with others when they cross him. Like when he told Emily to "tread lightly" or when he was mean to Casey S and told her to go home. At the ATFR, when Chris Harrison brought up the pictures of him kissing another girl, Ben did the same thing. OK, fine. You aren't kissing the girl in the photo. Your lips are about an inch away from her mouth and your hand is groping her a$$, but you're right....you're NOT kissing her. Uh huh.
But, I don't fault him from dumping Courtney when he witnessed her behavior. I felt like Courtney was just trying to play the victim, which is her M.O. "The girls in the house weren't nice to me, so I put my guard up," "Ben abandoned me when I needed him so now I don't trust him." It's just manipulation. Here's the analogy I was thinking when she said that. It's like if someone comes to you and says your husband is cheating on you. You ask your husband about it, and he denies up and down that he's cheating. Later on, you find proof that he's cheating on you, so you kick him out for a while while you evaluate whether you want to try to work it out or break up. During that time, he gets grief from his family/friends who find out about his cheating and he's also broken up about his marriage ending. You decide to give him another chance, but then he starts whining about how you "abandoned" him when he needed you most. Give me a break!
You're allowed to break up with someone because you find out what a jerk/idiot they are. Frankly, I think Ben was perfectly entitled to dump Courtney when he was faced not only with the fact that she was a spoiled brat to the other women, but also that she lied to his face about "trying" to make friends with them but was rebuffed. I'd have dumped her too when faced with the proof of what actually went down.
And I bet there were major fireworks after that show. I bet Ben was pissed off when Courtney said those things, but didn't want to show it at the moment.
