Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

Other anniversary boards?
So, out of pure curiosity, I was browsing other anniversary boards on TheNest. I was curious how far back they go and how active they are. Well, when I went to "see all anniversary boards", I was WAY confused! First, I don't see ANY 2011 anniversary boards. . . am I missing something? Second, most of the boards don't display any posts (it says either because there are no posts or there is a filter to prevent their display). Like the May 2010 board. Does that mean if someone married in May 2010 wanted to join TheNest, they wouldn't be allowed to chat on their own anniversary board? Please tell me I'm missing something here. . .

I think a lot of groups have formed their own separate boards.
My local board moved over to pro-boards because of the drama on the nest. Also its PRIVATE and only approved ppl can get in and read it which is a plus. I'm an admin on proboards for a board so if anyone ever wanted to jump nest ship I'd be happy to set it up for us.
I might be interested. With all the drama with Pinterest and privacy (lots of pissed off ladies over at What's Cooking) I'm questioning whether I want to keep posting here. But I can't live without you girls!!!! So I would consider it, only if everyone else was on board.
Ditto Allison! The WC girls moved to proboards yesterday after all the drama involving Pinterest. It seem TN is quickly losing people, yet doesn't seem too concerned about it.
I did join the WC proboards yesterday and so far it seems ok. I love the relationships and community we have built here, so no matter where we go, I am in.
Oh I know that Whats Cooking mess is terrible
For those who didn't follow: WC does a blog update where ppl w/ cooking blogs post a pic of what they cooked and the link to the recipe. WELL TN started pinning (on TNs Pintrest Board) those recipes. Which would be fine EXCEPT that instead of pinning directly the link to the recipe they pinned the pic in the message board which basically drags Pintrest people into TNs Whats Cooking board which means ppl have to SEARCH for the actual link to the meal and it means that many random people are seeing that board and while they often post about cooking they also post for vibes and whatnot and once someone has the nest name they can search the other posts from that person which would give away a lot of personal info.
And while everyone realizes that its an open message board this specifically directs many more people then normal to it.
And as usual TN didn't seem overly concerned about what they were doing so the women resorted to stopping posting pics and are considering starting a new board.
I'll look into proboards just to see what names are available and whatnot just in case we decide to jump ship.
EDIT: I didn't realize they had started it I haven't been on WC since yesterday morning.

I checked on TK to see about the 2011 boards and one of the boards says that after a year they move over to the TN. Don't know how reliable/accurate that is.

Like everyone else, just tell me where to go! I have joined a couple of Bump boards on Facebook, which has been a really nice, private space. I think I'm friends with all of you, but even if we've missed someone here or there, as long as they're on FB they can be invited to the group.
Don't know how it compares to proboards, but perhaps that's an option too?
