Slow board--let's do a check-in
The board has been a bit slow lately---of course I am doing oh-so-much to contribute
I hope to get some sewing in this week/weekend.
So, what have you been up to?

Re: Slow board--let's do a check-in
DH and I are in the process of trying to buy a home, so not too much crafting right now!
However, I have to get my butt in gear because I have 2 baby showers at the end of this month that I full intend to make gifts for that I promise to AW when I'm done.
I am here very randomly (just decided to check out what's going on and found it slow).
I am currently quilting two baby quilts for a friend's twin girls who will be 4 weeks on Friday. I have really enjoyed this project, often I am tired of the project by this point, but so far, so good!
Next up is cleaning out the current craft room, moving it to the basement and making the room into DS's big boy room, so "crafting" will take a back seat to "decorating", both of which I love.

I just posed my Hunger Games earrings.
I'm blinging out my iPhone case, but these 2mm stones are reaaaalllyy small and its taking quite a bit of time!
I finished a quilt I didn't AW because my laptop was in for repairs but I promise to update with pics later (Iphoning this post in).
Here's a quick shot- I'll have to upload mine at a later date because I have to reinstall my card reader. ggrrrr..
I also cut for 2 hopscotch quilts that will be made from the same set of fabric but that I hope turn out fairly differently.
Finally, I am making curtains for my guest/ craft room. I am going to do matching pillows for the new couch that should be arriving Thursday too.
Stand up for something you believe in.
We (me, my aunt, and my sister) made 48 of these canvases for teacher's gifts for the preschool where my sister teaches. My hands hurt!

It won't let me PIP in Chrome!
I recently redecorated my dining room and I wanted to finish the drapes before I leave for vacation next week. I also made a bag with a blanket (it doubles as a pillow if needed) and eye masks for the flight.
I will PIP (maybe) tomorrow??
I need to start on a bridal shower gift when I return which reminds me...does anyone know where I might get a Christmas Tree skirt this time of year? I want a really pretty one to put the couple's name on.

A pair of hooded swim covers (from the new Modkid book) for Gwen- one is done, the other is cut. Waiting on fabric to whip up some fun baby projects before our 2nd cousin makes his entrance next month. Also working on cape/mask sets for the kids' Easter baskets when that fabric makes it here.
It also just occurred to me that I have this pattern and haven't made it yet- and he shares a name with baby cousin! Duh!
Hey I'm new...just gonna jump in.
I'm about 2/3rds of the way through crocheting a baby blanket for my friend's baby. Next I will attempt some little baby hats- maybe one of the ever-so-popular animal hats I've seen all over pinterest. Then, I'm thinking I may move on to teaching myself to knit. If anyone has any recs for online tutorials that'd be great.

"People talk about escapism as if it's a bad thing... Once you've escaped, once you come back, the world is not the same as when you left it. You come back to it with skills, weapons, knowledge you didn't have before. Then you are better equipped to deal with your current reality."

Married Bio
I have been busy sleeping off the first trimester and all day sickness.
I need to get into gear though, my boss had a baby last week and I wanted to make a cute little appliqued top and skirt but loaned out my straight ruler.

I posted my last sweater several days ago. I also have a new pair of socks (pic in blog/on my Rav page for those so inclined), but I've been pretty lazy about posting lately and, frankly socks aren't my favorite. I have a finished cowl I need to block and photograph, too...
And then there's that test knit I finished (again orange), a garter stitch scarf with leaf edging, but I forgot to take a picture of it before I sent it back. I'm pretty sure this one's going to be one of their prototypes, though, so I'll show you guys if/when it goes up on their website.
The Brooklyn Tweed issue I knit the hat for is up and running now. I kept the prototype, so that's not mine on the website, but it looks just the same!
Next up: yet another test knit. This time it's actually pink! But I couldn't tell you what it's going to be--not out of secrecy, but because the woman basically said "Here's the first part of the pattern. No one's done this yet, you're knitting the prototype. I'm totally making this up as I go along. Good luck!" I'll let you know what/how this turns out...
Knitting Blog
Updated 3-12
I'm new-- I've been lurking for the past week or two-- but I'll play.
I'm knitting a baby blanket for a friend/her baby (little fella is due in May).
I'm a sort-of-new sewer; I did a few things back in high school and then took a decade or so off. I bought a basic Brother from Walmart with my Christmas money (I know, I know-- but I didn't want to spend much until I knew for sure that this was something I planned to stick with).
I've made a few throw pillows and a couple of skirts. I bought the materials to make an Easter dress for myself, and I'd like to get a start on that this weekend. I'd been planning to cut it out this past Sunday but ended up running and cleaning the house, instead. I need to get started soon, though, because if the amount of time the skirts took is any indication, this may take me a while!
I've been lurking a ton! My due date is approaching and I've lost motivation to make stuff except for finishing projects I've already started.
I really want to make a spring wreath out of paper flowers but we shall see...

My Blog
This is my first post on this board, but I have been lurking for quite a while. Currently just made about 50 wire wrapped bead pendants. Will be making a T-shirt quilt for some friends, just waiting for the T-shirts they would like to use.
