Lightweight vacuum for hardwood flooring?

I'm sure this is asked a lot, sorry!  What lightweight vacuum do you guys suggest for hardwood flooring?

Re: Lightweight vacuum for hardwood flooring?

  • Currenlty I have a shark "steam and vac" that I am using.  We just had our floors installed and it works wonderful.  I don't use the steam part on it b/c the floor people said not too...so I just use the vacuum part and it works great.  If I had to do it again I might get the Shark vacuum with the "pet" tool.  We have 3 dogs so would be good for the furniture.  Hope that helps.
  • We have cheapy Eureka (I think) It is just a stick vacuum with no brush. It is the best we have had. I love it!
Warning No formatter is installed for the format bbhtml
  • We have the Electrolux ergorapido and love it! The 12V model works great. It is a rechargeable stick vacuum and works great to pick up hair, dust, crumbs every day. I use that daily/weekly.  For wet cleaning I use the swiffer wet cloths or mop with Murphy's oil soap. The swiffer is great, so fast and leaves the floors so shiny!

Our installer told us not to use steam on solid hardwood, it can damage them.
