Which Gym Would You Choose?

I'm trying to decide what to do about my current gym membership.

The Gym I go to now: $20/ month, open more hours, has more locations (Chain), I can bring a friend with me for free, No fitness classes and is close to school but not close to home.

The Gym that I'm considering going to: $25/month, Has fitness classes, close to home but not to school, only has one location. Have to pay for someone to come with me.

I haven't been to the gym in a few months and now with the weather getting nicer and nicer every day, I'm not sure that I would go to the gym enough to make it worth it (Financially).  BF and I were talking about starting the Insanity workout at home because we got the DVDs from a friend for free and I'm pretty excited to do it.

Re: Which Gym Would You Choose?

  • I personally perfer to workout at home or run and since you said you haven't been in awhile I said no membership at all.  However between the two gyms I would choose the new gym ( I like the idea of having classes available).

  • Since you haven't been in a few months and the weather is nice.  I'd take advantage of it and take the summer off from the gym unless you feel like you desperately need it.
  • I would chose the second gym. I rarely bring friends along with me and I love the fitness classes. They break up a week or add something to a day. Plus, I prefer a gym that's closer to home so I can come home eat, rest, and head out.

But I also agree that you could take the summer off, save on the membership and sign up in the fall.

  • I never bring friends and love classes so 2 would be my choice

  • If you don't have a contract, I'd drop the gym membership while the weather is nice. Save the money and buy some equipment for home or a new workout outfit...or just put the money away.
