Fashion Star (3/13)

Did anybody else watch? What'd you think? I kinda liked the format, it was more about the clothes and less about the drama. I was so glad to see that jerk go home, who the hell is he to insult the women mentors?

  • I liked it.  I don't normally watch anything during that time slot, I will probably keep watching it.  I was so happy to see that guy go home too.  The only good thing about him was his accent.  He totally blew that "interview" when he insulted the women.
  • I like the format too. I like how they aren't competing against each other. I'll watch it again.

  • I am kind of confused about it. Do the same contestants (minus the one eliminated last night) come back and show more designs in an effort for the buyers to make purchases? Like those who already sold items?

I don't like the little El Salvadorian guy. He was obnoxious. Although I did like the little sequin black dress.

  • Yeah whomever is left comes back and designs something for the following week.

I think it's a pretty cool concept for a show. The designers have a week to put together their look, and they're not pressed for time the way they are in Project Runway. I also like that they have access to professional pattern makers and seamstresses, the way real-life designers do. And the final product is being actually sold in a store, vs. just being a super creative runway-only look. I was skeptical because Jessica Simpson is a host, but after watching I really like it and will watch it next week.

Finally saw it last night and I agree with all of this! I didn't think I would like it but checked it out out of curiosity and I did like it.

I want to go look for those items at the stores!
