Vent

I am so pissed off!!

My hubby bought be running shoes. Nice ones that fit my feet! I was fitted for these stupid shoes! They were like 120 dollars!

I...CANT...FIND....THEM!

I looked everywhere! In my apartment, in my car NO WHERE!

Then I had a freak out and i think i left them in the locker at the gym. Who does that?!? I called them gym, they dont ahve them.

So someone took my shoes? That is nasty.

I know this doesn't matter to anyone but I am really upset about it. I have a 5K coming up and I cant just run out a buy a new pair.

Re: Vent

  • That sucks. But that's why I treat my running shoes like they were my own children.

  • I am new to the running thing. I always but them back in my bag. I think they day I left them my husband was rushing me for work. I keep forehead slapping my self.

  • Aw, that sucks!! :(  I hope they find them!!
  • That's disappointing. I hope they turn up!
  • Yes. I'd be upset too. I'd post a note with a pic of them (from the product webpage) in the locker room. I'd also go ask again at the gym if you can look through their lost and found. Hopefully they'll turn up!

  • I am so sorry! I would be stalking the gym looking at people's feet :)
  • Oh god that would piss me off to no end!  Coincidentally I managed to lose my winter boots this year?  No idea when I wore them last (I think Oct. when it randomly snowed here) and now they are no where to be found.  I am so pissed (also cost a lot) and so I can totally relate!
  • Thanks guys. I am totally bummed. Like I really want to run today but I dont know if i should  use by cheap shoes. I have to keep running so I can do my 1st 5 K. It means a lot to me.

I almost cried yesterday and it wasn't even for the shoes. It was the thought that I cant run the race.

  • What kind of shoes were they? Do you think you could look around online for a discount pair or a place that would have a sale on shoes (runnerswarehouse, etc?)

  • They were from a specialty store :(

  • Like, orthotics specialty? If that were the case, and they were made like for you, there's no way that someone else from your gym could wear them. I'd keep pressing the staff and ask to put up flyers.

  • Not that special.

    But a running store.

They measured my foot and had be run in like 17 pairs of shoes before finding this one.

Can i still run today? Or do I HAVE to get new shoes

  • Well if they werent shoes that were fitted especially to your foot then you can probably find the exact same shoe on a site like runningwarehouse.com or something at possibly a cheaper price. If you know the shoe then you could look around and find it but anyway that is nasty that people do that. I am so anal about leaving stuff behind that I check my locker multiple times before leaving and make sure that when I take stuff off it goes directly into the black hole of my gym bag.

ETA: I would still run today and search around for the shoes online at possibly a cheaper price.

I agree. You'll probably be able to find your shoes at runningwarehouse.com. They have free 2-day shipping. It's awesome.

It really sucks to lose something. I hope you find them!

  • I'd suggest going to the gym yourself and searching. ?Also, if you know the brand and style (see if your DH has the?receipt) you can usually find a pair online that's possibly last year's model for slightly cheaper. ?Hope you find them!
  • thanks everyone for the help. I am going to go back to the gym and look in the locker that I knew it was in.

I hoping they will be in there.
